I have been on a hunt for chairs for my theater. I have sat in Berkline 088, 090, 099. And several others. I really liked the Berklin 099. I am 6'1" and the 088 and 090 were very uncomfortable for me. I guess I like the high neck support of the 099.

By chance I came by Lane Hollywood seating. I was really suprised how nice these were. And they were pretty cheap for what you get. I was surprised after sitting in these chair that they don't get much love here on the forum.

Anyways anyone that has them wouldn't mind sharing your thoughts, it would make me feel better about buying them.

Also how are they on your back during a long movie.

Thanks,

Steve

I have had them since they first came out and I love them. I'm 6' 3" 280 and their perfect for my size. The leather has held up great for them getting almost daily use, with parties and active kids. After all this time they still look and feel like new. I have sat in mine all day for movies, concerts, White Sox games, etc. Their so comfortable, some people have fallen asleep during the movie, I'm also guilty of that a couple of times. :D

I highly recommend them!

Check out the Palliser's. I've heard that the Brando is also good for guys our size. I'm 6-3 and 250 so I've got the same concerns as you.

I looked at Lane's and really liked them too, but I when I went to try out the Berks, my wife and I fell in love with a fabric choice that just couldn't be purchased on any other brand. We ended up going with 90's all around.

I tried out the Lanes not long ago, they were very comfortable and they had the wedge armrest. Measured the width and it was 116" across for set of three. A little to wide for my room. The price was 699 each which I thought was a bit high also. I'm going to order the Berkline 90's when im ready. Dont forget to add the tax in the price for the seats if buying local.

Yea well my love with the Lanes is over. So when I went into the store the lady pulls out her pricing sheet and it is like 2000 for four seats. I am like WOW this is a great price.

I come back with my wife the next day and the (rude old hag) sales women lets me know that she made a mistake and was reading the price from how much they buy it for. So she tells me it is over 4000.00. But because they are so nice they will cut off %20 and give it to me for over 3400 (plus tax).

I was so pissed I just rolled my eyes and walked out of the store. I mean I can get Berklines with power recline and buttkickers for close to that price.

Maybe it is just my Lane furniture store but I have had a couple of bad experinces there and I will never go back.

I'd go to a different store, I paid under $4000 for all eight of my chairs. I was just at a Leath store, their a Lane dealer and saw the chairs for $398 each.

I agree with Redhouse. My six Lane Hollywood chairs cost about six hundred each and are very comfortable for long periods. I've had mine for about 1 1/2 years.

i have 8 black leather hollywoods, they were abut 500 each. i like em but wish they would recline just a little more for when i fall asleep. (wich happens quite often) i'm 6'1" and 210.putting my shakers in was a chore though, there is not a good place to mount em, i had to fabricate the mounts.

I just was just surprised by my wifey today, she ordered a set of lanes. I wne to the store to sit in them, they had the coasters also, While the Coasters were nice, they couldn't touch the lanes as far as quality and comfort goes

Just a note...lane hollywood chairs in grade a&b leather/vinyl run close to $500 cost plus freight so anyone selling them off close to that is getting rid of stock/floor models. Noone even on the internet is going to place orders at that price.

I've had my Lane's ( 2 chairs) for about 1-1/2 yrs. I ordered them in 100% leather (no vinyl). They cost me $700.00 each including the tax and delivery. These were not floor models. The store I ordered from didn't have any floor models. I previously went to a different store that carried them at the time, (50 mile trip) but wouldn't deal. In fact when I tried to strike up a deal with the saleslady she walked away from me and told someone else to fill in!
I'm 6'-3" and they are very comfortable. I fall asleep regularly with the boring movies that are coming out lately.

$700 is a great price in all leather...cost from lane to a dealer in all leather is about $550ish for A&B and about $600ish in C&D shipped to them. So that is very very little mark up and most furniture dealers will not be able to make any kind of living nor pay salespeople any commission at that low of a mark up.

RunAway,
It helps alot if you have a good friend that works in a furniture store.

Does he manage/own it?...or did he buy it for you using his discount? That's just a little more than I would pay and I can buy stuff at cost, plus freight and 10%. Most stores seem to add at least 80% to the cost...and many times they add over 100% to the cost. Not sure what a dealer who didn't have a showroom could/would do.

I got my lanes today, I love em.... They are extremely comfortable for long periods of time. I was up until almost 2am watching movies.... Quick question, How do you hook them together, so they dont move out of place infividually, or will i have o wait until my carpet gets installed and that will stop them from moving.

Runaway,
No, he doesn't own it. He's been a salesman there for over 25 yrs. though. When he told me the price I couldn't believe it. He never mentioned an employee discount, he just gave me his best price. Maybe I should have ordered more than 2.

Why would that help to keep them from moving???

generally furniture doesn't slide very well on carpet compared to hard surface floors.
