View Full Version : OT: Estimated 25 RTV Forum Posts in last 5 days :(?
And two were by Lizardboy..
I've been really needing an AVS fix too.
Hope it has nothing to do with my recent net neutrality snobbiness and rants.
Maybe this is when we start making an offensively inconclusive list of missing regulars listing them in an offensive order as we think of them.
Here's who come straight to mind for whatever reason:
L8er
Goobered Up
Not KenL.. the other one..(what's his name)
Ken Blackney
MaxH
LeeThompson
Jeff D
Damn Toots
The good looking one
Well...it is a holiday weekend.
jleavens 07-04-06, 03:45 PM Everyone's so excited about the PC Edition they're out buying media center computers... ;)
ok. I'll post a few off-topic
The forum was down for most of Saturday. So, there really should of been 26 posts :D
Oh, I'm here; I just don't have anything particularly useful to say.
I've recently replaced a hard drive on a 4000 box and helped a friend with his 5500, but there's not much else happening TV-wise. I was just reading up on Sage, Beyond, and Meedio (now sold to Yahoo) and thinking that they still don't reach the level of background appliance that I want. What I've heard of the Replay software also hasn't excited me.
What about www.GBPVR.com ?
I have this forum bookmarked in my FireFox "Gadgets" tab, so I open this forum 5+ times a day. I don't post much nowadays in AVS forum since I have my ReplayTV, projector, and home theatre all setup, but I still like to see what's going on in the ReplayTV community.
p.s. My new toy is Xbox360, so I'm been looking at that. :)
I'm a reader, not a poster. Get to work fellas. If posts don't start happening soon, I may have to finally read the FAQ or *gasp* watch some tv.
lizard_boy 07-05-06, 02:15 AM Sadly, I had to just search and see what the hell I posted. Shows you (1) how quickly drivel gets forgotten (I used to remember my posts for years), and (2) how clogged up my brain is right now.
By my rough count, this is my 24th post this year -- well below my lifetime average of 2.xx/day. There's just nothing to talk about, I check this place once or twice a week when I'm bored, but the ReplayPC software (whatever it's called) does nothing for me (no HD & no commercial advance = zzzzzzzzzzz), which leaves Zimbabwe and Lint as the only real topics left.
MaxH and L8er are both boycotting AVSForum - problems with management.....
Both can be found on Planet Replay and Poopli forums.....
oldnacl 07-05-06, 08:57 AM Guilty as charged - I used to be a regular reader and poster, but, like others, my system has stabilized and just keeps on clicking so not much to ask and most of the common questions get answered before I have a chance to reply when I am online.
Additionally, I use a few Panny DVRs on a regular basis and spend quite a bit of time in those forums as well as the flat panel TV groups.
Thanks to all for the questions and answers over the years.
milky way 07-05-06, 10:07 AM Let's create a never-ending thread about NOThing, and let's post anything we want to..., kind of coffee break talk thing.

I thought those topics moved here? (http://http://www.drbanks.com/phpBB2/index.php)
Speaking of zimbabwe..
Ten Zimbabwe 100,000 Dollar notes - $1,000,000 Dollars -----currenly $6.66 plus $3.50 shipping on ebbay

Not making fun of zimbabwe, it's just incredible(ly stupid) how Mugabe (widely hated president) is handling the country.
Exchanging $US or Euros for zimbabwe coins--assuming they still have them--should sound like the worst move you could make, but if you exchanged $1 US dollar for coins you'd have tons of metal (cheaper then mining).
I doubt they even have coins.
Speaking of flat panels
I'm thinking of purchasing a Samsung LN-S3251D. 32" LCD. ATSC & NTSC tuners. Beautiful picture in digital, very passable in analogue. Anyone have thier Replay hooked up to one?
jones07 07-20-06, 09:10 AM I have the Samsung LNR269 26" and having my 5000 set to record on high, the PQ looks as good as DVD
Don't trust any voice that can be heard by more than 10,000 people at one time.

If it's getting that crowded in the barn, perhaps it's time to think about a new processing plant? http://216.66.12.250/images/buttons/report.gif

Provided they're sauteed in butter and not margarine.
