I have a JVC HM-DSR100DU (model # off the Dish bar code on the back of the unit) or JVC HM-DSR100U (model # off a sticker in the back of the unit). The power supply crapped out the other day  and I was wondering if anyone here knows where I can buy a replacement PS. I don't want to pay $$$ for a new unit but I would like to fix the one I have.

TIA

PS: Sorry if this is the wrong forum, not sure where to post this.

www.jvcservice.com is the JVC parts source for consumers. They'll probably have what you need. You have to know part numbers to get anywhere on the site, so download a service manual from one of the many internet sources. Probably be $200 by the time your done so... ? Sorry, don't know about any cheaper solutions.

Same problem here, but on a HM-DH40000U.

It died before my very eyes... The display was flickering and then nothing. This is the 3rd time it has died now, and I think it's time to make it a book end.
Pretty sad, considering the cost of this thing, and the lack of a typical Hi-Def input.

Any luck with finding the power supply? If so, did it work?

Thanks- Carl

My 30000 died because I unplugged without 1st ejecting. Tape had to be extracted forcefully (eeek!). When plugged in, rear fan comes on for a second or two, but no front panel lights come on. Checked fuse, and everything. Its sad, since all I need the unit for now is as a decoder (to help enable 169Time recordings to my HDD.

Yeah. The only good thing that can be said is that replacements are so cheap now you can probably buy a whole new recorder for what you paid for the first one.

Glad I have a display with Firewire inputs.
