An internal power supply and a USB host port on the front, i like it. :)

There's a few high def new-gen players to choose from now. It's going to be a difficult decision.

I sent the email to cooldrives they replied the product has been delayed until end of August.
Sent a couple emails to sarotech manufacturing but they don't reply at all. Another forum from Korean heard about the product cancellation, could be due to some internal issues they don't want to do business any more. If the company does not support good, no response email to customers, then should we buy without any future supports?

Now all the emails I sent to them returned no recipients.
The company might be no longer doing business due to
investment issue.

WOW that didnt go well. Poor planning I guess..

Finally, I got a nice and firm response from Sarotech. They confirmed the new DVP-570 will be coming soon in August. Stay still. I thought it would be unfair to them if I don't correct the humor. This is a All-in-one that includes network, FM transmitter, and hi-def supports.

Any more news on this one?

The company tech support seemed not good. Tech support never answered any of my questions, concerns like how often they update the firmware, so on. Should we spend much money on something that the sellers do not care about and do not even care about customers.

Besides, not all of my emails sent to them went thru. Some ok and some were returned with rejected error from the recipient mail server. Not sure if they set it on purpose to cut cost of customer supports. That was very negative of this manufact.

I read a early review in some korean website saying this product has many faults. It does not deliver everything on the description page!! I read that there were playback problems, subtitle problems, pictures displayed incorrectly, content display on screen different than on the display (tiny lcd) on the actual unit, etc. Buyer BEWARE!!! It sounds like Sarotech need to iron out some bugs in its firmware. If anyone owns one and disagrees with the review, please let other readers hear your experience.

Wow, you can read Korean! Thanks for good info. I was almost hooked with the outlook of it but my experience in the past told me to wait and do more research or hear from others. Now, I'm happy that I made the right decision not to buy this useless box. Let us know if any of you have any actual pros and cons evaluating the products. It's just my experience that do not buy anything from any seller/manufact who do not provide good supports. This company even pulled down their website to hide all info/contacts. It is very negative. That's why cooldrives.com sells it with message "use at your own rish." it's really panicked!

I got the DVP 570HD last week with SW 1.07 I downloadedthe new firmware 1.12 but when I try to update I keeping getting the message "Update Failed" can anyone assist how to resolve the problem:
I followed the instruction as stated in the manual:
I created the update folder in HDD
Then upzip the firmware and copied "bin" file in update folder.
I went to system folder clicked update the message appeared "Update Failed"
Any suggestions.

Did they change the system folder name from saro_sys to abigs_sys ?

If yes, than its clear,why my playlists do not work after upgrade to firmware 1.12.

I just recieved the dvp-570 and i am cluless on how to get this thing to show the videos from the Hard drive. I created the folders for update .... saro_sys.... playlist.... etc.... I installed a 160GB seagate drive. I used partition magic to format it fat32. It created its own folders after that but no matter where i put the files, they dont show up in the list. I only get the "upfolder". When i go to "media" and then "Hard disk" it says Hard mount fail... Any ideas?

If you can't connect the harddisk - it's clear - you will not see anything.
I formatted my samsung 300Gig with 3 NTFS partitions (1. Music, 2. Photo, 3. Movie) System folders have to be in primary partition.
I did not have a problem about Harddisk connection.

I just bought the DVP 570 and connected it to my Mac... Found out later that I have to format the 320GB HDD on my Mac as a Dos HDD - after I had done that (after many trials to solve it other ways) the DVP could mount the HDD in the player.

The first problem is solved (I can mount the player to my Mac and copy files on it). Then I connected the player to my TV - what a disappointment! I am using DIVX .avi files.

I do have a Pioneer Plasma 42" and I was told by the sales person that only the Sarotech DVP player can handle the larger Plasmas properly - a blunt lie! Below are the connections I tried so far with different results:

On DVP with DVI via Adapter connected to PC input on my TV. Good picture but very small (only uses about 60% of the screen).

Component cable DVP to TV with so so picture quality and also not 100% screen size. It only works with NTSC setting when I switch to PAL lines occur and the picture becomes drizzle.

S-video cable from DVP to TV now the movie is displayed on full screen but the quality is far below expectation an no fun to watch.

Anybody any recommendation for me? I am actually very unhappy I bought this player - a lot of money and a far below standard performance. Lets not even talk about their manual and the firmware issue. If I could I would return the player to the shop.

I hope for some support from guys out there - imho any software and hardware manufacturer would die without forums like this....

Hello,

I just bought the Sarotech 570 and my PC with windows XP doesnt recognized the sarotech. When I plug the usb cable the sarotech turn on so I beleive it's not a problem of the cable neither the port. I've tried to install the driver in sarotech websites but it's only for windows 98.

Does anyone have an idea of what can it be ?

I've mount a 500gb from seagate. When I go to sarotech menu it says "No HD mount" and No USB Connection. I didn't format the disk because I cant access it !

Do I need to format it Outside the Sarotech ?

When I connect to PC , the PC doesnt recognize anything connected on that port.

If you have no USB connection, you can't do anything.

For a PC, DVP-570 works for my understanding as a normal external Harddisk.

Are the connections insight DVP-570 for the harddisk really OK ?

I can't imagin something else.

I mount 750GB HDD into 570HD.
It's will normal and functional in original firmwave 1.04
If I copy 1.12 or 1.14 saro_sys/ertour in to HDD and reboot.
The system information show firmwave ver will be 1.12 or 1.14.
But I cann't see any file or playlist.

It will back to normal after erase saro_sys/ertour from HDD and reboot.
What's wrong ?

What process should I check in upgrade?
1. Check partition is primary.
2. COPY /saro_sys/ertour into HDD
3. COPY /saro_sys/update/abigs.bin into HDD
4. Reboot

For version 1.07, there are only a Russian and a French one listet. But you can select english in the French firmware.

It's have some problem like you say.

I think file ertour is for all firmwares the same. (I do not use it.)
So, I think you can use it for all releases of firmware.

What is the best place to buy this in the US? Only place seems to be cooldrives and their resellerratings dont look good.

I bought a Sarotech DVP-570HD and an MVIX MX-760HD. Comparing between the two. The MX-760HD menu is easier more stable to use and having less "frozen" or "crash" issues when playing (the firmware seems having less Bugs than the Sarotech??)

Is there anyone trying to play the DVP-570HD with DVD Karaoke/Movie files (*.Vob format)? I am unable to select audio streams (switching between one audio stream to others for Karaoke) by using the remote Control. In according to the DVP-570HD Manual, we can select the Audio channels with *.avi file only. Would anyone know what sort of *.avi files contain more than one audio stream, and how to convert to this format?

Please note: I ripped chapters of the Karaoke/Movie DVD with multi-Audio channels

I bought 570 unit (400GB HDD) last week and having few problems with the unit.
hope someone can sort out few things...

1) System response is super slow specially after installing files (100GB). I believe it wasn't so slow when hard disk was empty. I have already upgraded firmware to 1.14 but no luck?

2) Second issue: I can mount LAN connection to run media files straight from PC if i want to but can't manage to use ethernet connection to transfer files from PC to Abigs. In other words I can't see Abigs unit from my PC. Only way I can transfer files using USB connection.

3)Has someone tried to run unit in car because I'm trying to fit in a car but can't find car adaptor anywhere in Melbourne.

about your questions:
1. I do not see a response slowdown. I split my disk in 3 partitions for music/picture/movie. I think, that was a good idea. Look at PC for fragmentation of the disk.
2. You can not transfer files with ethernet. That's only for streaming. (I don't use it)

I have had this unit for a few months now, talk about time consuming!

Does anyone know if it actually outputs a DTS or Dolby Digital 5.1 signal? the wording of the manual doesn't make it clear, it states it has a DTS "passthrough" watever that may be. I have tried playing movies in various formats direct from the abigs HDD and can only get 2 channel stereo regardless of menu setting being on 2 ch or 5.1 digital out in DVP570 menu. My receiver automatically selects the highest audio format when being used with stand alone dvd player, and dts and dolby digital both work fine on dvd player. currently abigs is connected to receiver with an optical cable, but can support a coaxial. does this make any difference to outputting dts/digital 5.1?

As far as Sarotech goes, yeah this product was fully rushed. They have responded to my emails, sometimes helpfull other times useless. The player itself well i've only really had problems with it crashing, as well as the above audio issue. when it crashes the only option is to pull the power cord, there is no hard-power off/on switch! the other problem is the network light and the back of the unit noticably flashing when playing movies from pc to ABIGS via network cable, a bit of blu-tak will fix it but obviously not much thought there by designers.

Currently i have abigs connected to a router with a network cable, but it seems pointless. It does play movies/music from my pc fine, again they are in 2 channel stereo. DOES THIS UNIT SUPPORT SAVING FILES FROM PC TO DVP570 VIA ETHERNET CABLE?

At the moment i have to shift the unit from a different room to the pc (in seperate room from entertainment system) to copy files from pc to ABIGS via its LAN cable!~!!!!!!! surely this doesn't make sense if it can run with a network cable! does anyone know?

My advice so far? seems the unit is a waste of money. don't buy.

As I understand:
Abigs actually outputs a DTS or Dolby Digital 5.1 signal via optical or coax cable.
My Receiver tell me it and also the effects I can hear. (which would not possible if it is not DD 5.1).
As I post before: You can not transfer files with ethernet for saving on HD in Abigs. That's only for streaming.

i have one of these units as well, i want to stream movies over my network but it doesnt want to recoginise my netowrk devices, i have an ip address but when i select my source as the network it ask for a IP address which i enter my NAS drive and it says network mount fail!, im kinda stuck what should i do

Still haven't been able to play dts files. It's not the Receiver i'm using, it plays dts files fine off a dvd player. does abigs stream dts files or are they (files) able to be played if saved to abigs hdd? does the sound need to be output from a dts/dd card on my pc to be recognised by abigs?.

why do some vlc files play and not others? when i use abigs manager to try to fix/convert them it doesn't work.

wat is the dx50 codec, can abigs manager decode it?

Which files did you put in which folders ?
On Sarotech website you will find the correct configuration.

I'm also having the same problem. When I load new movie/music files onto the abigs they're not there when it's plugged into a monitor, however the files HAVE been saved to the abigs somewhere as they appear on abigs HDD when its connected via usb. In the abigs menu there is separate MOVIE and MUSIC folders but I have a suspician all the files are in one OR the other.

How is this problem fixed without losing any files? How to create new partions, or folders? when copying files from pc to abigs does the folder being copied to (MOVIE/MUSIC) need to be selected manually or does it automatically put the files into the appropriate folder? would appreciate some help if anyone is still reading this thread!

Maybe the other thread was deleted, I just replaced the HDD from a Hitachi StarCinema to another brand and the problem was gone.

I'm using firmware version 1.12 on the abigs. Also have the same problem with playlists; trying to open the music playlist will crash the unit.

REGARDING FILES NOT APPEARING ON THE ABIGS ONCE ITS CONNECTED TO A MONITOR:

My abigs came with version 1.12 and a 400GB Samsung HDD. I think the best thing to do would be to create 3 separate partitions on the disk like TRI. (ie MUSIC/MOVIES/PHOTOS). For a while I wasn't able to see the most recent uploads to abigs when it connected to a monitor.

After a bit of playing around and creating numerous new folders, all the files re-appeared. This would indicate a problem with (indexing?) or something else; so if your file list is too long the last added files wouldn't appear. CREATE MORE FOLDERS! Once you've cleaned up your file list with the usb connected to your computer, all your files should re-appear. If this doesn't work, and you have too many files then back-up the files and partition the abigs HDD.

I just got a 570HD and I cannot get my playlists to work. I want to play all my music from different folder randomly. But when I open an m3u playlist, it only shows me 0kb files and I cannot play them.
Anyone got a solution for this?

have been trying to hook up my 570HD to my pc via LAN.....it has not been successful. care to correct what i might be doing wrong?

on the setup page, I set the Auto IP to ON...which mean the DHCP assigns the 570HD an IP. then when i go to connect the LAN, it says FAIL.
