I thought that I'd start a self help and support group thread for people who have found a dead or stuck pixel on their high definition display and have decided to live with it for one reason or another.
In my case, I recently purchased a Sharp LC-37D90U 37" LCD TV. One of the first things that I did after setting up this TV is to attach the display to my PC to run UndeadPixel. Lo and behold I found a single pixel defect! :(
The pixel is dead on the white, green, yellow and blue screens. The pixel is blue on the black screen. The pixel only works on the red screen. I don't know whether this is technically stuck or dead. I have run UndeadPixel for over 2 hours along with various massage techniques and, unfortunately, it has not fixed the pixel.
It sucks, but the reality is that I don't notice the pixel defect from beyond 2 feet. On the other hand, I did spend a tad under $2K believing that a premium price point assured a defect-free unit.
I have thought about exchanging the unit, but since I purchased the TV from an online retailer, I would incurr shipping costs. Therefore, I have decided to keep the TV and live with my problem. I have come to accept that out of over 6 million TFTs, there is bound to be at least one defect.
Are you living with a pixel defect? Feel free to share your stories in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Do not suffer in silence, you are not alone. :)
