I suppose this is a slightly different question than building my own speaker, but here is the situation:
I sold someone a pair of PSB Image 1B bookshelf speakers, he somehow killed the tweeters, and now I have them back. Only the woofers produce sound, I dont know what happened to them.
Anyways, the replacements from PSB are something like $50 each, but I'm not willing to put another $100 into these speakers. I've never built my own speakers or done any of that kind of thing, so I dont have much knowledge in the area. I'm looking at PartsExpress for a low price replacement, but I just dont know what I need and how it fits. Stock it is a metal dome tweeter, 1", so would this do the trick?

Does it just drop in, re-attach the wires and it works? How would that tweeter sound compared to this cheaper one?

I dont know the crossover frequency on these speakers, I have not been able to find it...
I guess I'm looking for advice, direction. The woofers and cabinets are in great shape, it would be a shame to toss them if it is easy to fix.
