This depends on which company did the pressed disc, as I have 2 DVDs 1 looks much worse than the other. (Circuit City just had a sale a few weeks ago on the bad pressings, that I have.)

But my good one, upscaled looks quite decent. Granted (once again) yes the HD DVD is better (as usual), just not worth the 50.00 for most people who find it hard to spend even 30.00 on a movie (specially a kid who makes minimal wage.
I would say just stick with the DVD, you are not missing out as much as these trollers, want you to believe (HD DVD fanatics, possibly).

So HD DVDs shouldn't be bought unless they're of Beowulf PQ whereas Blu-Rays can be any old crap and it's OK? (By the way, what's the PQ like on the Equilibrium Blu-Ray? Is it even out anywhere on Blu-Ray? Personally I'll keep checking eBay to try to get the HD DVD version as cheap as I can.) Also I think trollers are those trying to disuade people from buying movies just because the case is the wrong colour in their opinion.

I just picked up my copy for 833 yen last week at Yamada-Denki. I was shocked I went to the 3 within an hour from home and got over 30 disks for 833 yen it was like Christmas early. The sale is over and all stores are wiped clean but one way out in the country and I am going there this Sunday to try to horse trade with them and see if they will drop the price.
