I own the TOSHIBA 37HL95 LCD flat panel television. I hate the TV Guide feature of this set. Is there a way to disable it? If so, please tell me how.

I have a friend having the same problem with a 32" Sharp LCD. Someone suggested going into favorites or favorite channels in the receiver and it might be able to be disabled there, but I really don't know and haven't fooled with it. His receiver is the Direct TV h 20.

No such favorites thing exists in the Toshiba. Really sucks.

Over on the Pioneer thread they are saying to key in "00000" for your zip code on the TV Guide and that disables it. Hope it works for you. I've heard nothing but trouble about the TVGOS system.

I found something that worked for me on my toshiba, Bring up TVGOS, if you go over to the setup and down to general defaults, under that there is an option for general defaults. Press the enter/seelect on the remote and go down and turn auto guide off. This doesn't kill TV guide but it does stop it from popping up everytime you turn on the TV. I called in to Toshiba's Customer support and they got mine working, it is a helpful feature when using a CableCARD. I use it all the time now that TV guide got the signal issue worked out for my area.
