I can refer you and you can refer me that way we get the cars. grkgus 09-10-06, 10:50 AM post your name in here for xbox live and ill give you mine. grkgus 09-11-06, 10:02 AM ill pm my code to whoever pms me. common guys, we both want these cars. phantomhitman 09-11-06, 02:28 PM i dont not think it works as you say. You need to setup a daisy chain effect I believe. member 1 gets member 2s code member 2 gets member 3s code member 3 gets member 4s code etc HeadRusch 09-11-06, 04:21 PM I bought the game but have not logged on or opened it yet. Uh, what do I need to do to get them...and to get the codes to someone else..(???). I assume I get the codes to give to someone ELSE when I log on for the first time...? johnbe 09-11-06, 04:43 PM I got the game today but was waiting on a review before opening. I've liked some of the Test Drives in the past and the price was right. Let me know how this referral works and I will help out. xxThe Deanxx 09-11-06, 06:40 PM We'll have to pyramid this and hopefully each guy can refer the next. Maybe there is a way we can go in order here or something? grkgus 09-11-06, 09:13 PM I can make a list....if you would like to get the cars i will make a list of order of post. 1. grkgus 2.headrusch 3.johnbe 4.xxthe deanxx just pm the person before you starting with 2. johnbe 09-11-06, 11:12 PM The way I read this is you tell someone and they buy the game. You then share the code from both manuals. So 1 and 2 need to share. Then 3 and 4. And so on. That way each person gets a unique code. A code can only be used once. And we need to do this quickly because they are allowing 10,000. grkgus 09-11-06, 11:13 PM The way I read this is you tell someone and they buy the game. You then share the code from both manuals. So 1 and 2 need to share. Then 3 and 4. And so on. you want to share codes? johnbe 09-11-06, 11:16 PM We can just say we want to share the codes and let everyone know what we did and everyone can post what they did instead of keeping a list of names. johnbe 09-11-06, 11:21 PM you want to share codes? I PM'ed you to say I would share. I was waiting for you to PM me back to confirm. John johnbe 09-11-06, 11:26 PM I just checked that site and it says it will not be up until the 13th so we need to be ready to put our codes in once it is up and make sure we remind each other that it is up and functioning. John HeadRusch 09-12-06, 07:58 AM Ok so...what the ##*k do I have to do here? :) I'll try to open and "install" the game tonight..no time last night. Mcklein 09-12-06, 10:49 AM I got the game today but was waiting on a review before opening. I've liked some of the Test Drives in the past and the price was right. Let me know how this referral works and I will help out. The game is much better than the demo, theres tons of stuff to do, and lots of cool cars, the cars look really good and they did a lot of little details that are cool. johnbe 09-12-06, 07:21 PM you want to share codes? I PM'ed you the code. So now everyone can take note that we are trading and match up with someone else. The site is up and running where you put in the code. You share your name, email address, and referral code. jscoleman 09-12-06, 07:35 PM My XBL gamertag is Z Gremlin, I will pass on my code to the next in the list and refer someone. grkgus 09-12-06, 07:51 PM mine failed when it started to download on live. not sure why? but the code no longer works in the email johnbe 09-12-06, 09:46 PM mine failed when it started to download on live. not sure why? but the code no longer works in the email There may be a tech support number for Atari and I would call or email them. Surely they can make it right (if they want). Since it worked on my end, there couldn't have been a problem with the codes. grkgus 09-13-06, 01:01 AM There may be a tech support number for Atari and I would call or email them. Surely they can make it right (if they want). Since it worked on my end, there couldn't have been a problem with the codes. i called xbox live and they said they cant do anything on there side because the code was used. I email atari since they dont have phone support. Ill just wait i guess. Did the cars go into your garage or are they just available to purchase. KRaK 09-13-06, 01:22 AM Anyone want to trade codes? Mikey_Gee 09-13-06, 09:00 AM I downloaded successfully and now have the 20meg file downloaded on my 360 ... but how the hell do I access the cars from within the game. My Garage still only has my two cars. Do I need to enable or load them?? Do I go to a dealership and pick them up free ?? HELP !!! StreetPreacher 09-13-06, 09:33 AM What I read is that the extra add-on car packs are just to make the cars available for purchase in the game. If you want the new cars in your garage you'll still need to purchase them with your in-game cash. johnbe 09-14-06, 03:27 PM i called xbox live and they said they cant do anything on there side because the code was used. I email atari since they dont have phone support. Ill just wait i guess. Did the cars go into your garage or are they just available to purchase. I can't believe they just couldn't reset it so it looked like the code was not used. Sounds like they just don't want to be bothered. The cars did not go in the garage so they must be hanging around in there someplace. I guess I will have to buy them once I get some money. johnbe 09-14-06, 04:54 PM i called xbox live and they said they cant do anything on there side because the code was used. I email atari since they dont have phone support. Ill just wait i guess. Try this.... If your download has failed and you can't use your Microsoft code again, here is what you need to do: * Click on your Gamercard * Select Account Management * Select Download History * Select the Offer Name * Click Download Again Craash 09-14-06, 05:16 PM Anyone want to trade codes? Did you find a partner? Check your PM bosng 09-14-06, 05:26 PM i've read on gamfaqs that many people are getting hosed with these game referral systems. only one person can get the download and the one who is second to try to redeem is hosed. i have a referral code but don't see how a trade is good if only one person can download. bosng 09-14-06, 05:34 PM i dont not think it works as you say. You need to setup a daisy chain effect I believe. member 1 gets member 2s code member 2 gets member 3s code member 3 gets member 4s code etc so each member except for the first one needs to trade with 2 members. kinda like a pyramid scheme. is there any scenario in which someone will trade with you and your "second" trade doesn't unlock the car? and therefore any further trades will also be locked because you've traded with 2 people already? KRaK 09-14-06, 05:57 PM i've read on gamfaqs that many people are getting hosed with these game referral systems. only one person can get the download and the one who is second to try to redeem is hosed. i have a referral code but don't see how a trade is good if only one person can download. I thought both people recieve the cars. On the TDU website, it says "After you provide your code and your friend's code, you both will receive a Microsoft Xbox LiveŽ Token via email." http://www.testdriveunlimited.com/referral-program/ Anyone know the answer? Islanti 09-14-06, 06:04 PM When you register your code and your friend's, you get two codes back. One for each of you. bosng 09-14-06, 09:30 PM ok, i'll give it a try. i have a referral code and will trade with anyone who has over 150 posts at avs. please post here and send pm. bosng 09-17-06, 02:48 AM thanks to HeadRusch for exchanging codes. did you get the token i sent you? should be in your pm. downloading cars now :) so from what i gather, the process goes like this: either user who enters the info with two codes and emails will get a page that says "here is your token...and here is your friend's token" and then says the friend should also recieve an email. both parties get thier own token which is fantastic, no pyramid scheme. :) oh so the other thing i read online was that the two cars are only available in game for your character to purchase. they don't automatically show up in your garage. danieloneil01 09-17-06, 12:16 PM I rented the game but the cars feel goofy.. I also wanted to look at the Motorcycles but I have to look at all the car dealerships.. So I thought that wouldn't be so bad since theres only 3 but come to find out there's more on the other side of the Island and you have to drive there.. Wow, sorry but that's boring.. If I wanted to look at the scenery and enjoy the drive I'd do it in real life.. HeadRusch 09-17-06, 01:11 PM I got the email with a code I can enter. Thats another thing, I downloaded that "free launch pack". Nice..it doesn't give you any cars, it just makes them available at dealerships to BUY. Thats, well, thats kinda lame. I had hoped you just "got" these two cars...as opposed to them just being available for purchase. cixelsydmind 09-21-06, 07:08 PM Not sure if this is out there yet, but is there an AVS car club on TDU? If so I'd like to join up. Gamertag: mindspin9 MeelaPo 09-21-06, 08:57 PM I got the email with a code I can enter. Thats another thing, I downloaded that "free launch pack". It takes like 5-10 minutes to gather the money to pay for the cars in the "Launch Pack"..... jasonstiller 09-21-06, 10:05 PM everyone mentions how the cars feel funny? The roads have multiple elevation changes and even the little bumps in the roads. Its gonna feel a little funny trying to drive 120 mph on these roads in real life. We should start a AVS club. id love to play with some adults that wont try to ram me off the road all the time. High DeF JeFF 09-21-06, 11:22 PM AVS Auto Club sounds good to me too. Xbox Live- High DeF JeFF danieloneil01 09-22-06, 01:48 PM Well after driving over 5k miles in this game, I can say it's pretty cool.. Except I wished everyone that was online with this game was on this map.. I hate teleporting to an area populated with people only to never see them.. You have to lock on to them using the GPS.. This island has everything from flats to hills.. Although I'm starting to hate seeing all the Saleens which everyone and there mom drives.. If anyone wants to get inside the airport let me know.. It's fun getting a bunch of people in there just ramming each other and getting right on the planes as they land and take off... I never knew how big the airports were until I got inside it.. HeadRusch 09-22-06, 05:11 PM I'm pissed.....TDU has caused my 360 to lock up twice now....no big deal, but for some reason I have visited all the dealerships, and STILL can't buy bikes. I was scouring all the map for a dealership I might have missed....even the little Pontiac one near the airport..... now I'm going to have to vist each one over again and hope it "takes" this time. :P On the upside, I bought my 3rd car....a Ferarri 430 Spyder...and when playing those Hitchiker missions I swear to god sometimes it feels like I'm playing OUTRUN :) All I need is some Magical Sound Shower lovin and it would be perfect! danieloneil01 09-22-06, 06:07 PM I'm pissed.....TDU has caused my 360 to lock up twice now....no big deal, but for some reason I have visited all the dealerships, and STILL can't buy bikes. I actually prefer the bikes over the cars.. The Ninja upgraded to 3 is the sh.it... Hopefully they add the worlds fastest production Motorcycle.. HeadRusch 09-22-06, 11:10 PM NO lockups tonight, but I did find out I had missed the Ferarri dealership near Waikiki. That was the one I was missing. Couple notes....racing the computer can be really damn frustrating unless you own the absolute best car in whatever class you are racing. I'm getting used to restarting most PRO level races 5, 6, 7 times in a row because I'm not racing the absolute best car in the class :P Trying to do the classic race around Diamond Head is an exercise in frustration, no matter how well I do...Vroom...there goes the Lamborghini, 30+ MPH faster than any of the other classics. All the other cars seem competitive, but including that Lambo..well...SUCKS. Same thing when I was doing a Class "D" race in my Lotus Esprit. Sure, not the fastest car in the class, but does the Mercedes have to be so LEAPS AND BOUNDS faster? Its annoying, every race there's one car thats just so much faster...AND, gee, what a coincidence..its ALWAYS in pole position. :P Frustrating, but I am enjoying the game more the more time I put into it now..... danieloneil01 09-23-06, 03:26 AM I'm getting really pissed off at the Online part of this game.. It's so hard to lock on to a friend and get on their server to ride with them.. It must take me over 5 tries to actually get on with them going through the GPS and getting the box around their name.. Sure the times I don't get them I seem to get the same people that are in that area everytime.. And for the love of god stop challenging me when you're in a Saleen.. That's what everyone seems to drive in this game.. LAME tazzmann 09-23-06, 11:23 AM I have been playing this game since it came out and I was really enjoying the single player part of the game but now I am 65% done with the game and it is starting to get to difficult for me. I have some of the timed races to do yet and most of the hitch hiker and top model ones to do. This is where the games with better online play shine for me because I usually give up and just play with my friends online. When I play this game with my friends though it is usually just driving around in free roam and crashing each other and anybody else who shows up around us and this just is not as much fun as PGR3 was. Daniel when you are in the GPS screen you can use the Dpad to jump from person to person or race to race instead of trying to move the curser to them. When you jump to people you must start driving for them to show up some times but it does usually take more then one jump to get to them. Tom tazmanpa HeadRusch 09-23-06, 11:48 AM I did a few of those car delivery missions to get the big bucks, those are actually kinda fun. You gotta drive like you do in real life :) Wait..wait..wait..PASS PASS PASS WOAH Headlights, slow down back into your lane, etc. But thanks to the driving model, this game isn't easy....its way tto easy for your car to go airborne, or lose all traction, just by clipping a curb or whatever. Then of course it takes a good 4-8 seconds sometimes to stop and "recover" from a spin..thats a little annoying. The game is also a bit hard because these cars do drive WEIRD. PGR's driving model was like an "arcady simulation".....but this game the cars feel a bit strange, hard to describe. I do think this game, unlike PGR3, would benefit a ton from a steering wheel. PGR3 is easily playable iwth the sticks, but this game I had to deaden down the stick reponse or else I spent the game constantly over-correcting my turns. And the triggers could be a little more responsive too.......every time I use the brake I hear the tires lock up.... Here's another thing I noticed...this game gives me a bit of a headache. Why? I think its because I spend the entire time focusing on like 2 inches in the dead center of my screen. Because, unlike PGR3 which has fairly straightforward tracks, no oncoming traffic, and no foliage all over the place, I think my eyes have to work a LOT harder to see where the road goes in this game...is that a turn? A bush? Where's that road going.....I'm focused on this tiny little 2" patch where the road goes in the center of my screen....I think my eyes rae working harder. The HDR in this game is somewhat poorly implemented. I think thats whats also giving me a headache...it seems like the contrast level is always blown out. I had to turn up the brightness in game a few notches, but then on my darker colored cars there is like no detail, they are always pitch black (before anyone asks, I'm on a CRT so black levels aren't generally an issue). You click "back" to look behind you for a sec, then let go of the button and "WOOOSH" the whole screen whites out like you just stared at the sun for a few seconds. I dunno..these are all whiney bitches here, but the game is still fun. But I stand by my other commentary, it would probably be a dozen times better if it had been developed or funded by anyone other than Atari. Atari is like a b-movie game producer....its functional, but there are lots of little flaws that kinda add up to make me glad I didn't pay $60 for this. The idea and execution are well done....but its not brilliant, and I think..given more time or a more experienced development house.....probably could have been. danieloneil01 09-23-06, 12:43 PM Don't even get me started on reverse. Mcklein 09-23-06, 06:02 PM So no AVS clubs yet?? MeelaPo 09-23-06, 07:02 PM Here's another thing I noticed...this game gives me a bit of a headache. Why? I can see that happening to a few people. This game requires your eyes to do a lot more work than normal racing games because of the traffic and the right angle turns that you don't know about until it's too late. anotherdaydown 09-23-06, 10:29 PM I'd like to join an AVS club as well, gamertag: anotherdaydown Thanks, -Matt Islanti 09-25-06, 11:43 AM I do think this game, unlike PGR3, would benefit a ton from a steering wheel.I have the MadCatz wheel. It takes a lot of tweaking in the control settings to get the wheel to feel "right" in TDU. Once you do, the game is vastly easier. I'm looking forward to trying it with the MS wheel. marioman64 01-01-07, 03:39 PM anyone have a code and i'll give you my code please thanks marioman64 01-01-07, 04:04 PM can someone give me a code and i'll give you one gamegod2x 01-01-07, 09:21 PM i love this game but i also hate it, as much as i want to play and love this game it always find a way to make me mad when the server goes down or the game freezes on me. |
