Hi all....

I'm mounting a Toshiba LCD 26LH86 to the wall and have a few questions for you folks...

1. How do I remove the base ?

I've removed a hand full of screws underneath the base, there's an aluminium piece that holds the base. That aluminium piece looks like it's screwed from inside the set onto the chassis. I don't know to get to those screws without taking the tv apart.

2. Can this set be safely mounted on a wall ?

The user manual does'nt mention anything about wall mounting. Anyway I figure I can use the mounting screw holes in the back of set with a sturdy mounting bracket.

Thanks for responding,
Rick

Yes, you must remove the back of the TV. You may accomplish this by removing all screws that have an arrow pointing at them. This includes 7 perimeter screws, 2 deep set screws just above the stand, one screw above that with a grey arrow and 2 or 3 others on the back. Careful, there is one more screw roughly in the middle of the AV jacks on the back. Once the back is removed, there are only two screws attaching the stand. It comes off easily. Do not bother unscrewing anything that attaches to the base itself, there is no way around taking off the back of the TV. Good Luck. :)
