Hello everyone.

I have a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8000 box with DVR that allows dual show recording. Have a few questions.

Is it possible to remove files from this box and transfer them to a pc or another hard drive that can be used in a pc?
If it is possible how is it done? How much space am I looking at these shows taking?
How expensive might this cost?

I contacted Scientific Atlanta and asked them about this and they told me to contact Archos. I contacted Archos and they have a portable entertainment system that does this but it costs $350 which is a little more than I can afford currently. The cable box doesnt have a fireware outlet, but it does have a usb port on the front of it. I would appreciate any information anyone can help me with. Thanks!
