I'm wondering if anyone can help me decide on the best "low cost" LCD. The following LCD's are in the price range I am wanting to pay. Please provide feedback.

Here are my choices:

Westinghouse LTV-37w2 37" HDTV - $1233
Polaroid 37” LCD HDTV (FLM-3732) - $1199
VIEWSONIC N3760W 37" HD - $1099
Syntax Olevia LT42HVi 42" HD-Ready - $1299

FWIW, I would say none of the above. If that is your price range, I would consider a smaller screen.

Or maybe the newer Olevia 5 series http://www.olevia.com/jsp/products/detail.jsp?pid=537h

It is a little more expensive but should be better than the older one.

But look at them before buying. Sorry if I am mistaken, but your post sounds like you just picked them at random based on price alone; that's not a good way to buy a display ;)

I have the polaroid and I love it. I compared it side y side to the westinghouse and the polaoid looked much better.

Well, if you've decided you want an LCD, you probably should have posted in the LCD forum. But that's not a big deal.

You are not supposed to post pricing, unless it is MSRP, which is a bigger deal.

Finally, if you haven't decided on LCD/plasma, I'd suggest you consider the panasonic th-42px60u plasma, which is worlds ahead of the 4 you mention in both features and picture quality. It's near your price range. Become aware of the differences between LCD and plasma before making a purchase, as neither one will fit every situation perfectly.

why2not has good advice above. Why don't you tell us a little about your viewing room, its lighting, your viewing distance(s), and the content you watch. With that information, we can better propose a recomendation.

With few exceptions, bright and uncontrollable room lighting, I believe you will find the PQ superior on a plasma.
