Hi,

This is my 1st projector and admittedly it was free because a friends coworker thought it was dead and was throwing it away at work so I he gave it to me for parts. I said if it works they can have it back but they said we got a new one. Low and behold after I got it home I turned it on and only the power button was illuminated but NOT the LED, but the fans run. I then took the lamp out and then reseated it and turned on the projector again and it WORKED!!!! I watched a movie on the wall and then turned off the projector and the next day I moved the projector to anther room to set it up permanently. Later I went to turn it on and alas it did the same thing as before. After taking the lamp assembly out I then removed the bulb and tested the contact and elements with a multi-meter and there is NO conductivity in the center element that runs through the glass tube in the center of the bulb.

I am trying to find a bulb replacement and NOT a lamp assembly replacment. Spending $500.00 is not much for this projector since it was free but if I can replace the bulb for cheaper I have no problem with that.

The bulb is labeled as such

TOP G3
UHP 250W 1.35
232-0202-02
Made in Belgium
100816846

I can only guess as to what the numbers mean, I regret that I am able to disassemble and reassemble most anything but my guessing skills are found lacking.

Any help would be great before I succumb to dropping the $500.00, I am sure my spouse would love the money instead 

Thanks though for the help with the manufacture 

I need help figuring out what the numbers mean, which ones are relevant (besides all of them) to finding another bulb and who to get it from online. When I search for lamp or bulb for a 5700 I only get the entire lamp assembly 

I have a similar story, I've E-Mailed Phillips, but who knows how long that's going to take. Anyway I've wondered around the internet all night and I found some info..... I just looked up 250W bulb that pulls 1.35 amps getting a little closer.
I think these are Metal Halide Lamps, so....that's where I am right now I'll get you more info as it comes along.

I'm not sure if this is the case with the 5700 but many of these lamps are arc style lamps and don't show conductivity when testing with a multimeter. I would reseat the lamp again. If it is only the bulb that is blown the projector will continuously blink the LED in three red blink intervals. If the LED is not coming on at all it sounds like the seating of the lamp assembly or the lamp door switch not contacting when the door is shut. If the LED comes on in RED count the blink interval and check the manual for further info.

Hope this helps and you got a fully functioning decent PJ for nothing. Good luck on the bulb alone.

You might want to contact these guys

Joppru (http://www.jopprugroup.com/)

I have not used these guys, but came across the site a while back. You send them the lamp assembly and they put in a new bulb. Or, if you contact them, they might just sell you a bulb.

Good luck
