Hi Guys,

I have my MG-35 connected via scart to my Toshiba widescreen TV via a component to scart adapter. The MG-35 is set to 16:9 screen with Pal video.

There are two issues with the MG-35

1. When I switch the MG-35 on it doesn't signal my TV to switch to the correct input. My TV does this when I switch my other scart connected equipment on, e.g. DVD player and Sky+

2. The MG-35 doesn't signal my TV to go widescreen. The TV is set to auto-size so when I watch Sky+ it auto-switches to 16:9 widescreen, and when I watch terrestrial channel 5 it auto-switches to auto-size to show the 4:3 screen as fullscreen. It all works perfectly except for the MG-35 signal which stays at 4:3 for some reason.

Any ideas on how to make the MG-35 (or a scart adapter) to fix the above issues?

Many thanks,
Andy

Andy,

I'm afraid that I can't answer your query, but I would be interested to know what sort of component to SCART adaptor you're using.

Thanks,

Kettle

Hi

The MG35 cant do the switching as it does not have a dedicated scart output with the required signals to do the switching .The component to scart adaptor only sends picture signals. It is possible to modify the scart adaptor to meet your requirements ,a voltage has to be sent to certain pins in the scart adaptor ,you can take power out of the MG35 for this one pin on the scart requires a voltage of 2-12 volts (off the top of my head I can't be sure which pin No.8 I think) the voltage needed is dependent on which mode you want to switch your TV to (19:9 4;3 etc) I have done this on a PC a couple of years ago. Just google for the scart pin outs and make up a lead with the required resistor to send power from the MG35 to the scart adaptor

How is it possible to make MG-35 work with "HD Component Out" Video Setup option via YPBPR-to-SCART adapter? TV (Samsung SyncMaster 941MP in my case) displays "NO SIGNAL" message when trying to switch MG-35 output to this mode.
And what is the purpose and functionality of "Video" button on a remote control of MG-35?
Thanks in advance!
