I've got XM via FM modulator (wireless) in my car currently and am getting rid of it. I had a rental car last weekend that had Sirius and I enjoy the Sirius much more.
So, I'm going to get a Sirius reciever and try to hard wire it into my OEM headunit. The headunit has no aux input but I've been reading the acurazine.com forums and found two ways to do it.
One is the Dension ice-link adapter. I can get this with the ability to integrate an ipod into my radio or just a standard aux input.
The other is a blitzsafe PIE adapter. This one allows for three aux inputs.
I don't know which one is better. They are comparable in price and I like the idea of having more than one aux input.
Has anyone tried either one of these and if so, how did it work?

Did you make a decision and buy one of these adapters?
Which is better may depend on what type of car you have. In our Honda Odyssey the Dension Icelink works nicely and sounds good.
I'm wanting to add another audio source (dvd player) in addition to the Dension and haven't yet figured out the best way. It seems the Dension might not be compatible with the other Honda aux inputs from PIE and Blitzsafe.

Hi Paul...
I am looking to integrate as much as I can (well, no DVD plans yet) into my Odyssey. I looked at your Dension IceLink and don't see everything I want for an ipod integration - well, I scanned their web page and didn't see what I was looking for. Can you tell me - are you using the Odyssey head unit's alpha numeric display for the song titles and what not? Mounting the ipod out in the open is like asking someone to take it. I was using an Harmon Kardon Drive & Play (1st gen) and like the way I could lock up my ipod and still see what was playing.
For your particular problem - I think you either need a DVD player that talked over the Honda's IEBus (which i doubt you will find in the after market), or another IEBus adapter (AUX in this time (which I am wondering if it will work with the ipod adapter at the same time)), or an ipod adapter with an AUX input. I found the last one when looking for ipod hardware. So it exists, but I can't find it again right now. I think you could select the AUX instead of the ipod by picking the last CD on the head unit.
The ultimate solution would be a IEBus interface box specifically designed for the Odyssey and what ever hardware you added. Instructions could pop up on the head unit's display so you wouldn't have to remember what's what. I'd like to integrate an ipod, XM and HD radio as well as audio from a cellphone Bluetooth adapter and voice prompting from a GPS. It would be cool to on/off hook your cell from the Odyssey steering wheal!
However, I can't find the complete IEBus command set the Odyssey head unit, I think, can use.

I have a Honda (Accord) and I have to say the right move would have been to get the Navi option. It does ALL of this except the HD Radio already from the touchscreen display. Trying to do it aftermarket is pretty futile.

The head unit in my (non-nav) '05 Odyssey does not support text so even if you worked out communications with the databus there's no way to get text.
Mounting the ipod out in the open is like asking someone to take it.
The iPod slips out of the Dension unit very easily, and I even installed the Dension cradle so it is mounted to a rubberized base that sits in one of the cupholders in the center console (there are eight cupholders in reach of the front two seats!) So, the whole thing is out of sight in a matter of seconds - and generally I take the iPod with me when I leave the car anyway.
I solved my DVD player input by adding a PIE X3 switcher. This presents three RCA inputs (I'm just using one) and it passes through the Dension interface (it obviously treats the Dension as if it were the XM).
Thanks,
Paul

Where's the fun in that?
