Pinnacle S10.7 will burn HD-DVDs on a red laser DVD.
I am a user of Pinnacle S10 and own a HC1 camera. In the past few weeks I followed the instructions on this forum to burn HC1 content but had to use 3 pieces of software.
So , now I can capture, edit and burn all in one software. The HD-DVD plugin is $50 and the software around $75.

The BIG DEAL here is you burn HD-DVD with your $30 burner to 30 cent 4.7 DVDs.
Will hold app 20 min or 40 min on a DL at best quality.
The S10 software has adjustable bit rate so you can get more than 40 min.

Sounds like it is a lot easier.
I use Vegas 6.0...does anyone know if they have a similar upgrade? I hope so!

We have been doing this for months now though. Since the release of the first Toshiba HD-DVD player.

has anyone been able to burn to dual layer dvd-r disks yet?
I just don't want to get up and stop the movie to change discs every forty minutes.

Uhh...that's 40 minutes for a DL DVD.
20 minutes for a single layer.
You're going to have to get up no matter what.

I have an XBOX 360 with HD-DVD drive. I bought Pinnacle Studio 10.7 and the HD Authoring pack for it to burn HD-DVDs on standard DVD stock to play in the XBOX. So far, I only get an error code that the media is unrecognizable.
However, I have been burning HD-DVD disks on standard DVD stock that work in the XBOX by compiling in Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0, then exporting MPEG into Ulead MovieFactory 5, where I render the HDDVD_TS files on my hard drive, and burn to standard DVD using Nero Burning ROM 7. This setup works, but with no menus.
I want to get the full features available in Studio 10.7, but don't know if anyone has proven that S10.7 will burn disks recognizable in XBOX 360. Perhaps I'm chasing the Holy Grail.
Thanks much!

If you're just copying some old Betamax tapes over to HD DVD how many hours will fit? I may want to do this eventually. Obviously I wouldn't need best quality.
