Peter Bracke on Mission Impossible - Ultimate Missions:

'Mission: Impossible' is the first box set release to come to HD DVD and it's pretty darn explosive. For once, the TV ads don't lie -- this one packs plenty of bang for your buck. Overall great transfers, soundtracks and tons of extras make this one a four-star box set. If you at all like the 'Mission: Impossible' movies, then you're in for a treat -- make sure Santa leaves an 'Ultimate Missions' box set under your tree this holiday.

Yeah was just reading that. Glad to hear this box set is everything MI fans could want it to be. Hopefully BestPrices will ship my box tomorrow. I hope to have it for the weekend.

I was looking forward to rewatching the "Mission Improbable" MTV parody with Ben Stiller from the M:I 2 DVD in this box set but can't find it on any of the discs. Is this hidden as an easter egg somewhere, or has it been dropped from the HD discs?

No, don't tell me "kickin' impossible" isn't on there. That was the whole reason I bought the SD DVD of MI2. Looks like I might have to keep that one.

how does MI2 get such a good rating in this review ? i hated the PQ on this disc. had a harsh, digital edge to me (hello EE) and wide shots in particular looked very "video" like. very non-HD . i'm using other titles as a reference point so i know what "better" 235 HD is supposed to look like on my set-up (120inch projected). MI1 and MI3 both looked much better.

I agree. MI-2 is the oldest transfer of the three titles (recycled from the 2000 DVD edition) and by far the worst.

I was also jumping all around the extras looking for the Ben Stiller "Mission Improbable". At least I still have the SD version but one would think HD could beat SD on all counts.
