Ok this is for a JBL ESC200 5.1 Dolby/Stereo Prologic system...I am planning on hooking it up to my SB Audigy 2 ZS (for my computer)...now here is the problem, the card is a 5.1 DD/DTS built in etc with digital inputs (internal and external) and also 5 analog outputs

Now the amp/processor is not, go here for some quick specs:

http://202.186.86.35/audio/story.asp?file=/1997/10/02jbl

As you can see it only has 2 stereo inputs, but overall the sound is great, and I really do not want to toss this system, JBL did a good job on making a small system sound nice and I think its worth a shot to get some true 5.1 on this system...here is my question, is it possible to hook up a decoder that can take in a digital signal from my Audigy 2, and tell the JBL amp to send out the proper signal/power to the speakers? like maybe another set-top box? Could I do this with the sound card alone? (because it has full DD/DTS capability and 5 output jacks) Thanks

I would also be very interested in making use of this type of system and improving on it's capabilities. I have a JBL Simply Cinema ESC 550 home theater system that I just dug out of the closet today (looks brand new) and ...it is (even by todays standards) still very sleek, powerful and sounds real nice. Hate to just give it away or stick it in the garage.

Believe it was designed to compete with Bose lifestyle systems.

Hi Bumsi and others can give some feedback.
I have JBL Simply Cinema ESC 550 unfortunately not functioning now. Power comes and it displays all, however any function selector does not work, such as CD tuner aux selection dors not work. Any idea, also I'm looking for the working unit only if you want to sell it.
Thanks

Hi, I know this is an old thread but like to ask if you like to sell the speakers of your unit Subwoofer not included. Are you from USA?

I know this is a bit out of date, but I have an ESC550 that was dropped off for repair, I have the service manual for it but it does not include a diagram of where to put the many, many molex connectors. This was taken apart before it was dropped off so I need to find someone to take a picture of their unit so that I can find where to plug them in. I am willing to trade the service manual for the picture.
