What warranty comes on the Berklines in general; and more specifically, on the power recline hardware?

Also what is the difference between a Level 1 and a Level 2 fabric?

rsh

crussader,

This info is available on the power buy page on my website, but here it is again:

Warranty:

1 year on the cover and power recline
5 years on cushions
lifetime warranty on springs, construction and reclining mechanism.

What style groups would you suggest for someone 6'4", 240lbs ? I've been looking at the 090's and 45004's. Also do the 090's have lighted cupholders available? Finally, would the box for a single recliner fit in the back of a minivan (without rear two rows of seats). I'm trying to figure out if I could store them in my parents garage and move them one at a time to my house after I finish the basement theater that I am just starting.

Thanks,
Joe

miran2782,

You should change the font color - it is unreadable.

Anyway, for your size and height I would look into taller recliners:

075 (has adjustable headrest), 091, 094, 099, 187, 45001, 45012

Any of these will be better for you than 090 or 45004.

I am not sure if the box will fit into the minivan, but you can always take the chair out of the box (the back cushion of off), and easily fit it this way.

miran2782,

I am 6'4", 241lbs and I have sat in a 090. No problem at all, actually very comfortable and adequate, even had about 1.5-2" of space from my hips to the arm rests. I wear a size 38-40 waist as well if that helps.

075's adjustable headrest is a cool option though.

Make sure you try them out first. Many of the Berklines, IMO, have a similar feel with varying softness. But to me the 075s feels totally different. I'm not saying worse, just different.

rsh
11-08-06, 02:53 PM
tneal,

I agree with you 100%. Many Berkline style groups are based either on 088s or 090s and have the same seat/armrest, but a different shape/size of the back cushion. The 075 is a different chair with the firmer CMAX cushion and rounded armrests. It is important to try them first.

Do some fabic patterns/colors take longer to deliver than others? If so, is there any way to know which choices would cause a delay on an order?

rsh
11-08-06, 05:49 PM
David,

It is impossible to predict. It all depends on what the Berkline has in stock at the time the order is placed. Sometimes when they do not have enough covers to complete the order, it will be delayed even only one chair is not finished. They will only release a full order and will not do partial shipping. I have seen cases when non popular covers are being shipped very quickly, and very popular ones being delayed. Again it is impossible to know.

Hi rsh,

Are there any promotional or "super special" fabrics (wife hates leather/vinyl) that Berkline is trying to clear out on the 088's? I'm of course not asking for a price here, just wanted to know if there was any anything exta special being offered due to overstock, discontinue, etc. before I look thru all the color that are available.

Thanks

There are some saving on group 2 fabric - padded suede 3133-27 gray and 48 red, but availability is very low, and not all pieces available at the deeply discounted price. how much you save will depend on the pieces you need. Contact me directly, and let me know what exactly you are looking for...

Can you tell me what the differences are between the 094 and 187 (other than the tray table)?

FYI: If anyone wants to order Berkline Fabric/Leather swatches, I found them online to order for $1 each here (http://www.htmarket.com/berkline-swatches.html).
Roman still has the best hookup though when it comes to pulling the trigger for the actual chair ordering.

rsh
11-09-06, 08:08 AM
David,

It is basically the same chair. The 094 has the tray, which you can mount on top of the armrest and a storage compartment in the armrest. The 094 is the only style group that has the tray.

I read in an old thread that the 187 only comes in leather and is not available in fabric. Is that still the case?

rsh
11-09-06, 05:47 PM
David,

I am not sure where you read this, but it is not true. The 187 is available in fabric, leather/vinyl combo or all leather as any other Cinema Collection style groups.

crussader

I am not sure where you read this...

Just FYI, I found it in this archived thread from when the 187 had just come out:

http://archive.avsforum.com/avs-vb/history/topic/415833-1.html (3rd post from the end)

Glad to hear that it's available in fabric as it looks like this might be the model I go with.

rsh
11-09-06, 06:02 PM
I see, funny - I said that... :)

I guess when it just came out it was not available in fabric - weird. I was a long time ago, and I do not even remember, hmm... Anyway, it is available in fabric now for sure.

Roman,

I seem to remember you saying in a recent thread that the 075 CMAX seating was a bit on the firm side. I'm interested in the 45004's which also are CMAX but don't really want a seat that is too firm. How do the 45004's compare in comfort to the non-CMAX seats (090, 091, 187, ETC...)?

rsh
11-09-06, 09:54 PM
maser,

The CMAX cushion is very nice. It is hard to explain, but I would describe it as being slightly firmer without loosing softens and nice cushioning. Basically it has best of two qualities. It firmer and softer at the same time. I like it better than on the 090s, but the difference is not that dramatic.

I don't want to get quotes for all of these, but I did send an email to the link in the other thread.

I'm interested in a row of 3 for under $1500 and a max length of 115 inches.

Which berklines should I be considering?

rsh
11-10-06, 11:48 AM
I just replied to your request.

It would be very helpful if everyone followed the link to the power buy page and read all about the Power Buy details and provided all required info.

FYI: you have many choices including 088, 086, 45004, 090, 73, 45003, etc, etc, etc... all depends on how tall you are and how your surround sound speakers are set up.

We are going to give out more prizes to the Power Buy participants. I will announce this on Monday next week and will provide more details then.

Roman,

I was looking at the information that you have here:
http://www.rtheaters.com/powerbuy/

Could you provide a little bit of clarification on the "promotions" section?
Are the items listed under promotions being offered at a further discount that others, or is this list the only options available in the power buy?
For example:
"2. Berkline 090 in leather/vinyl only 7049 colors 29 BLACK"

Does that mean that I can't get an all black leather set of 090s using the power buy, or does that mean that Berkline/you are currently offering a really good deal on the configuration listed (but I could buy any that I wanted via the powerbuy)?

Thanks!

rsh
11-17-06, 02:55 PM
PerryH,

The Power Buy as a whole means that you get better deals comparing to already low regular prices that we usually offer (basically we offer an additional discount while running the Power Buys on all style groups, covers, etc.). Everything that we offer regularly is also offered on Power Buy - no exceptions.

The promotions are just what they are. For example the 7049-29 BLACK is group 1 leather, which is offered at discounted price in leather/vinyl combo (comparing to group 1 price), but only this pattern in this color - so yes, it is offered at even deeper discount than similar leathers.

I hope this helps.

I'm looking at the 075 series. 2 rows of 3 seats. I plan to have my 1st row about 1 - 1.2x screen widths away from the screen (104" wide 16x9 119" diagonal Hi Power lit by a Sony Pearl). I'm having a hard time deciding if I should go with the wedge armrests or not.

From the drawings I have seen, it almost looks like the angles are too much and the viewers in the outside seats will be turned further than the center of the screen. What is the actual angle of the wedge?

I'm also wondering if I should do the wedge armrests in just the front row or both rows? I have plenty of width in my theater to go either way.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks!

For whoever is looking for a recliner: Monday, I am about to get my 6 chairs I order from Roman. He was very helpful in guiding me thru the process. Got in the power buy. Process has been painless and the prices are very good. I highly recommend him. Now I just have to hurry up and finish that room.
will search for some idea to change that pop corn white ceiling.

Peter,

The 075 wedged armrest have 8.25" width in the front and 13.25" width in the back. As you can see the difference is 5" and that is what give you slight curve. It is not significant for 3 seat configuration. It does make a deference when you go with 5 or 6 chairs in curved configuration. The costs for the chairs are the same, but shipping is a bit more expensive with the curved configuration.

What is the difference between a 090 chair with and without the buttkicker installed?

i.e. if you install [The Buttkicker Berkline conversion Kit Item #BBK-CK] afterwards is it the same as the factory installed buttkicker 090 chair? So if I purchased a row of four seats could I get just one with the buttkicker installed then decide later whether to add more buttkickers?

Thanks

rsh
11-26-06, 08:40 PM
miran2782,

Yes, you can do that, but the buttkicker option where you get the chair with installed buttkiker will cost you less, and you do not have to do anything except connecting the buttkickers.

Well,

Today was the last day for those who could have placed the order and become eligible for the CASH BACK prizes. We got 23 orders and will announce the winners within next couple of days. :)

We still have a week to go. The power buy is on until December 7th, and we will do drawings for the main prizes after the power buy is over.

Just wanted to say thank you to all participants.

Just wanted to drop a quick note in this thread for anyone that is thinking about getting some theatre seats. Roman helped me out about a month ago and worked with me in getting some Berkline 90 series chairs for my home theatre. I just wanted to tell you that he was very professional, took the time to explain absolutely everything and was very good at following up and letting me know the status of everything..the chairs we ordered actually came in faster than expected and everything was great..we finally got the chairs set up and they are fantastic..thanks again Roman for all of your help..

Circuit City has a berkline chair in their stores now, but I don't know which one it compares to in this powerbuy. It's difficult to tell from their site due to no pictures being available and the berkline style not being included. The chairs are here:

http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/Search.do?c=1&context=&keyword=berkline&searchSection=All

Any ideas?

I may have to go back and get some pictures :)

Also if I were to order a setup like this: IOIOOOI with the love seat, does it end up being cheaper then two O? Can you get power recline in the love seat? Do the seats in the love seat recline indepedently of each other?

Thanks,

rsh
12-02-06, 07:50 AM
Takedown,

1. From what I saw last time I was in Circuit City, they had 090 and 45001 on the floor. We offer any Berkline Home Theater and even regular recliners. Anything made by Berkline can be had at the Power Buy price.

2. Yes, the armless loveseat is cheaper than any two separate recliners. If you had followed the link to the actual Power Buy (http://www.rtheaters.com/powerbuy) , you would see answers to many questions you have or may have.

I was wondering the difference between the 090 and the 187. Also, how do the leather groups run, is 1 the best and 4 the least? Do both the 090 and 187 have the power recline? Also which is model is cheaper?

I am 6'3 and 300 lbs. Will my wide butt fit in these?? :)

When does the powerbuy end?

Sorry guys, one more question. Do the backs come off the 187 and 090 to get into my basement?

Thanks.

12-10-06, 12:56 PM
jimfitz,

The 187 is basically the same chair as 090 but with a different shape of the back cushion. It is also higher - 44.5" vs. 41" on the 090. I would recommend the 187 for you hight.

All Berkline recliners come with the backs off. It is very easy to put them on after you bring the chairs into the room.

Most of power buy participants have received their chairs already. Some, I'd say less than 3% are still waiting, mostly because of the cover delay. Yours is one of these unlucky ones.

But guess what, I have good news for you. Your order has been shipped today. I will email you your tracking info tomorrow.

Make that 4 that have not been received. I still have not received my order nor even had any contact from the shipper even though it supposedly shipped out of the factory two weeks ago (01/15) and this is the White Glove delivery.

It is a shipper problem apparently and I've been bending Roman's ear on it a lot. He is working dilligently on it though but Berkline and Bekins are not giving me any info on where it is or a delivery date, which sucks.
