I've been hearing that these are noisy. I plan on using my iPod 99% of the time and am concerned that its going to sound like ****.
Does anyone have this unit and have any fix or workaround, or know why?
Thanks in advance.

I'm trying to decide between the alpine iva-w200 and the clarion max675vd right now...my main need is iPod usage - I'm concerned the Clarion's interface will be slow.
Now maybe noisy too?
Anybody?...
Advice?
Thanks.

I am sort of in the same boat here. I have it narrowed down to the two head units mentioned above (Alpine IVA-W200 and the Clarion MAX675VD) and the new Alpine IDA-X001. Obviously, the X001 would be cheaper. I am going to be using Sirius 75% of the time and my iPod the other 25%. Anyone doing Sirius and/or iPod through any of these? I know the X001 has only been available for a week or so, but I know some of you folks are on top of things!

Well I bought the Alpine iDA-X001 over the weekend and I love it. Display is fantastic. I might regret not getting the Clarion, but my checkbook thanks me.

I looked into the Clarion but jsut did not have all teh features i wanted. i went with the Pioneer Avic-D3 instead and i must say i love it. DVD (super easy bypass), Navigation, Bluetooth, Sirius, and Ipod (also came with free rear view camera) all for 1067 shipped. I dont even know what to listen to now. Ipod usage is pretty good even does video.
