Any news on costco's bundle for the Wii, what it comes with? Also, does anyone know if they will be doing any online preorders? Recently, they took down the Wii page.

I spoke to an associate at Costco yesterday, he said that they were hearing it was around $340. I asked if he knew what it came with and he said that he "thought" it was Zelda and Excite Truck. Possibly an extra controller too.

I find that odd as every system they have ever sold has come with an extra controller.

The guy gave me a feeling that he knew more than he was letting on too, he was being a bit weird about it.

I plan on going back there next Saturday, possibly to all 3 in my area to find out if they have them... how many... and what the plan is for people that will be waiting outside overnight or early in the morning. They should know the day before what the total count of units is and what they plan on doing with customers, especially after the 360 craziness last year.

do you anticipate that we will have to camp or get there real early to get one from costco?

I just got back from Costco and had talked to various people in the store. Each had their own version of the story. The guy with the most information was a manager at the front of the store. He says that at first they didn't think the wii would be a high demand item but the last few weeks people have been asking a lot of questions. He said for now they don't have plans to hand out tickets (like they did for the 360) but they may change their minds between now and Sunday.

The best plan I can think of is to call the store the Saturday before the release to find out if they have them and what the plan is for Sunday morning.

Hopefully the reports are correct that they have a lot of these to sell during the holiday season. (See other posts here which contain links to news articles)

The PS3 email was explicit in saying that there would be absoutely no units at the store for launch.

Since you have the Wii email, and are still suggesting that you might get one at the store, can I assume that the Wii email _does not_ explicitly say that no units will be sold at the store?

If not, then I must say that I am perplexed by your comment.

Sorry, my wife told me on the phone about the email but did not go into detail. When I get home I'll check it for details. She only mentioned being able to order it so it very well may say you can't get it in store.

Well the PS3 sale on costco.com was an absolute Cluster-F as expected.

So, how does this bode for the Wii sale? Will it still happen? It seems to me that announcing the exact time the item was going live was probably not a good idea. I am wondering now if they will put the Wii up much sooner than the announced time.

any new news?? im bummed i couldnt get a ps3 to share with my brothers but im sure theyll be happy to fool with the wii, i actually enjoy my 360 with gears of war and dead rising as of late being my two most played games, but the wii intrigues me with its new style of play and great price tag, if anyone knows if this will be on tomorow mayb a time period im assuming 8 pacific (11 est?) aroundt here but maybe earlier any info will help thanks

well, costco.com online went up early for ps3 which got killed so expect similar stuff
from what i understand, the bundle is 339 or 349 and will come with system, zelda and excite truck. not sure about the extra contoller part cause the wiimote and kunchuck are seperate items and costco bundles usually only save like 30 bucks or so....

my guy said whole NE will have wii's in stock at warehouse (most likely 28 units or so)

I think I missed it. It was in my cart and I was on the fence for ordering it. Once I did hit checkout I kept getting a site error, and then after about 5 minutes of trying again and again, it said they had sold out. Their CC server must have been getting hit pretty hard. :rolleyes:

Same here, I did order by number, and it verified that they still had some, so I went to place the order and just had to enter the card verification code, but the site errored out. It then emptied my cart and that was it.

Sucks that they never even had the counter they promised up and running.

Hahaha now the bundle item shows up along with the 4 games.... of course sold out.

Yeah i used the item # and got to the last page of the checkout with a confirmation # and after clicking confirm i got a message saying that item #200619 was no longer a valid item # and my cart is now empty. I had no problems with the pages timing out or errors like i did with the ps3. I am gonna send a e-mail to customer service but its not gonna do anything i am sure. Oh well we'l try again someplace else

I'm a little annoyed at costco. I live near the "worlds largest" costco and you would think if they were going to stock some instore they would have a few at their largest store. NOT. Oh well I'll have to wait abit.

The local Costco here in Santa Clara, CA (Coleman) isn't getting any until tomorrow. They told me that they would have about 40-50 units. My buddy in Mountain View, CA reported the same thing.

I picked one up this morning at my Costco - this costco generally always has stuff on launch date (except for the PS3 of course).

They had 48 Wii's in stock and there were about 50 of us waiting. I got there at 8AM and was #24 on the list. It was handled by giving each person on the list a ticket and verifying membership, then they let us in at abou 9:30 (half an hour early, yay), we went to the register and paid, then went and showed the receipt for the Wii. The line here was very polite and civilized, everything went off without a hitch.

With Costco there *is not* an extra controller. You ge the Wii System, Zelda and ExciteTruck.

The bundles should be hitting the stores if they haven't already. I called my local store and he said they had 24 units on order, and could be arriving tonight or tomorrow.

Has anyones costco.com order shipped? I was a bit disappointed today to see no change in the status. I was hoping to get it by Wednesday but looks like it may get stuck in the holiday.

I guess I cant get really angry because theres no where else for me to go pick one up but still...I'm annoyed despite that because theres pretty much no chance were getting these things before the Thanksgiving break. I got this instead because of COSTCO's return policy, no need to buy an extended warranty through them...I can exchange the system any time, no questions asked just in case it should go FLATLINE.....BTY is there anyone out there except you and me looking at this post...suprised at the lack of response(s).?

Sorry..tried to help...I know how frustrating this whole thing has been for me...I'm sure within the next few weeks (hopefully) it should be easier for everyone to find one...I really did not want to pay shipping but it's better than paying an EBAY scalper, at least the shipping I will look at as a lifetime warranty of the system because it's from COSTCO.

I was at Frys for lunch looking for a HDD controler. Walked out with a Wii. I guess depending on where you are you can find PS3 in stock or Wii. Just depends I guess.

King of Prussia store has a pallet of bundles. Got one today!

I don't know about Costco, but I did this at Circuit City without any issues. I would think with Costco's liberal return policy, this shouldn't be a problem.

Avatar is with the PS3 bundle. You will run into two potential problems. They may look for the sale of the game in your costco history if you don't have a receipt through the membership number. Alternatively it could not be in the store (all stores don't have the same game selection for the PS3).

Or they could just take it back and give you store credit.

However, you'll be kinda screwing yourself if you ever want to return the entire bundle to costco (everything you purchased must be there for them to take it back).

You'll have your best luck at Walmart - those guys will take anything back.
