FrankJ.Cone 11-15-06, 08:57 AM I should pick this up. TAS was the show I waited all week to see as a child. (Repeats)
I thought this was a Dec title?
Stryker412 11-15-06, 09:06 AM Yeah I just read it's been pushed back again to Dec. :(
MisterNJ 11-15-06, 09:11 AM I don't know anything about the actual gameplay of this game. Is it a RTS?
I picked up Gears and Marvel Ultimate Alliance. I also have Saints Row on its way from an EBAY purchase. I also never finished Moto GP06, Oblivion, Top Spin 2, Condemned, PGR3 and my first season in NCAA 07.
I need to stop buying new games before I finish old ones.
FrankJ.Cone 11-15-06, 09:29 AM I need to stop buying new games before I finish old ones.
Man do I agree with that! Though I did finish the last two games I bought, MUA and GoW. Now I need to hit the backlog before Rainbow 6
I will definitely be picking this up. There hasn't been a good trek game in a long time.
Islanti 11-15-06, 11:07 AM I'm looking forward to this, but Gamestop has the game listed as shipping Dec. 5th now.
RAVEN56706 11-15-06, 11:24 AM rent the games.... much easier
I just hope it's good. the other new star trek games that were just released got poor reviews.
The only really stellar Star Trek game I ever played was the first Elite Force from Raven. Hell, it was way better than the Voyager show it was based on. I enjoyed Armada in a "hey, I get to control fleets of Borg cubes" sorta guilty-pleasure way, but it certainly wasn't the best RTS ever.
Legacy may just be a giant dog turd, but something tells me I'll have to pick it up anyway, if only because it's the first Archer/Kirk/Picard/Sisko/Janeway all-in-one package.
Quikzilver 11-15-06, 09:54 PM I need to stop buying new games before I finish old ones.
Those are my words to live by lately...
joewagner501 11-16-06, 09:37 AM I have tried several times in the past to stop buying new games until I finish old ones but it just doesn't last very long. I have resigned myself to having several 360 and PC games unfinished. Its an addiction and as far as addictions go its pretty harmless.
PerfectCr 11-16-06, 09:39 AM Yeah I just read it's been pushed back again to Dec. :(
Only in Europe I believe.
swifty7 11-16-06, 09:46 AM will it come out for pc or is it a 360 exclusive?
RAVEN56706 11-16-06, 10:05 AM the best star trek game ever was...... star trek armada.... best of them all...armada 2....thats another story

There's some gameplay here:

However, it's 5 months old.
I always liked ST: TNG on the Sega Genesis. It had an exploration aspect too it if I remember correctly.
Here is a complete over the shoulder look at a complete mission on the 360 version. THis link also shows the co-op/multiplyaer aspect on anpther vid.

StreetPreacher 11-24-06, 11:19 AM Huge thanks for the link!
This should make the purchase decision much easier :)
Stryker412 11-24-06, 02:30 PM Lt. Commander Sisko with the Defiant? Uh oh, I guess their research department fell asleep. Also, why can't they say the characters names? They just say Chief Engineer.

That game looks terrible.
That game looks terrible.
You are looking at a video camera taking a picture from a TV screen at low res. The game looks like the stills that are farther up in this thread.
Sheesh!
StreetPreacher 11-25-06, 01:43 AM I'm not so sure that he's only refering to the visual aspect...
I haven't been following this game too closely, but is the whole thing just a series of tactical starship combat scenarios?
Lt. Commander Sisko with the Defiant? Uh oh, I guess their research department fell asleep.Nope. The Defiant was introduced and brought to DS9 in the first episode of Season 3 ("The Seach, Part I"). Sisko wasn't promoted to Captain until "The Adversary" later in the season.
Krevnik 11-25-06, 01:01 PM Nope. The Defiant was introduced and brought to DS9 in the first episode of Season 3 ("The Seach, Part I"). Sisko wasn't promoted to Captain until "The Adversary" later in the season.
That and the mission appears to take place shortly after the Borg attack that took place at the end of Season 3 of TNG. The Defiant was built shortly afterwards as an anti-Borg weapons platform (hence the small crew count, weapon types that don't appear often in Federation design), and apparently this mission was the trial run of the Defiant. Very likely before Sisko was even assigned to DS9.
Although why there are Steamrunner/Akira class ships running around... don't ask me. :/
That game looks terrible.Terribly fun, yes.

He started DS9 as a full Commander, and yes he was promoted to Captain later. He was never a Lt. Cmdr on the show however. (yep I'm a geek)

(yep I'm a geek)According to the rank guide at the official startek.com site (http://www.startrek.com.sg/ranks/tng.html), he was a Lt. Commander during the battle of Wolf 359, and oversaw the construction of the Defiant at Utopia Planetia. So it's entirely plausible that he's on the Defiant as a Lt. Commander in the Legacy mission.

Someone needs to do a Star Trek MMO. Maybe an RPG, but an MMO could be amazing if done right. Guids could have ships. Different guids could be part of different speices that hold planets that everyone is fighting over. I'm kind of surprised no one has done one yet.
Is this game live enabled? If its not it really should be. Nice 16-24 ship epic battles would be nice.

As far as I know it's still in the works. I haven't heard of it being scrapped...yet.

jagouar 11-26-06, 01:19 PM On a slightly different note there is still a mmorpg stargate game in the works.... this has as much potential imo as a startrek one but i am very suprised both havent been done yet (they are both perfect canidates for mmorpg's)

Yes, with co-op, death match and so forth. One player can control up to four ships and you can have at least 4 players and team with them or with the AI against them and so forth. Check out the skirmish mode video to see how LIVE functions will work.
Stryker412 12-07-06, 02:12 PM Looks like the 360 version was delayed another week. This isn't looking too good. I hear little to no advanced copies were sent to reviewers.

What's a guid? I've watched alot of Star Trek in my time, but I'm not really 'into' the universe of it.
StreetPreacher 12-07-06, 02:54 PM I think he meant 'Guild' :) For instance you might be able to join the Maquis faction.
I was looking at the Futureshop website earlier and the PC version is going to be on sale for $39.99. I think I'll be waiting to hear some reviews on the multiplayer before I even consider picking up the 360 version ($69.99)...

LoL My thoughts exactly :D :D :D
Has anyone seen any reviews of the PC version yet? I hope this game is a least as good as Armada.
Stryker412 12-08-06, 10:40 AM Not looking good at all from the PC reader reviews:
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/sim/startreklegacy/index.html
I would be interested in the 360 version review. I have read a number of negative PC reviews and some positive. Some of the negative PC reviews are from very anal players. A couple guys were bitching that there is not enough micro-management, another guy pissed because he cannot barrel roll his ship and another is pissed because he cannot name his ships.
Most PC gamers seem to want a simulator and want to redirect power to certain shields and change the interflux mix to the warp engines while doing incremental power changes to phaser settings and so forth.
Me, I want to have fun as I have enough micro management in my real life job!
rdethloff 12-08-06, 10:56 AM OXM gave it an 8.0...good news even though I feel they rate games a little high in general.

Agreed. I just read some reader reviews and the complaint seems to be that the game is dumbed down for console gamers. He might be decent for the 360 after all.
Not looking good at all from the PC reader reviews:
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/sim/startreklegacy/index.htmlI'm not surprised that the PC players are irked by the "console" nature of Legacy. What does surprise me is the sub-literate and hyperbolic nature of most of the comments. "Worst Trek ever"? Maybe in a universe sans Spock's Brain or Star Trek V or Voyager's "Threshold"...
HangEmHi 12-08-06, 01:15 PM OXM gave it an 8.0...good news even though I feel they rate games a little high in general.
Yeah, I read through the review in the OXM I got in the mail yesterday. Their main complaints are a difficult control system, steep learning curve and lack of mid-mission save points (and something about if you screw up badly enough you don't just replay the mission, you replay the CAMPAIGN from the beginning...). They also describe the MP as not being too deep (as it is mostly coop or versus deathmatch sorts of stuff).
On the positive side, the graphics/audio are gorgeous and very cinematic, and the reviewer says if you can get past the controls and the learning curve that it pays off.
I still want to see the full achievement list  , but I'm likely to get it myself.
timick1 12-13-06, 04:45 PM Star Trek Legacy ships out to the stores tomorrow (12/14). Should be on the shelves Friday!
HangEmHi 12-13-06, 05:25 PM By the way, the achievement list (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/home/showachievements.php?type=Retail&gameID=175) is out.

So..... anyone get this? Any opinions on it?I played it for a number of hours last night (on my computer monitor, since my big screen is currently on the fritz).
The controls take some serious time to get used to; I have horrible trouble assigning orders to each of my starships... there doesn't seem to be any kind of "escort" or "guard" order, which sucks during missions where you're charged with protecting medical frigates. I'm not a fan of the separate camera and steering controls, though I understand why the camera is set up the way it is.
The graphics are hit and miss. I like the starships, the planets, and the nebulae, but things like space dock look really bad, which is hard to figure.
The starships look purty, the story is competently told, the sound FX are decent. As a Trek geek, I had to buy this... but as a gamer first, I'm thinking I would've rented it instead of bought it.
I find it easier to issue orders to the fleet on the map screen. In the medical ship mission I broke my fleet up and sent one ship to the same planet as the med ships went to. Three med ships so I sent three ships to the 3 planets each med ship was going to and kept the Enterprise in the center of the action area until you find the Romulan starbase. I then sent the Enterprise there and she really took a beating but the Romulans seemed more interested in protecting their starbase until later in the mission when they went after the med ships but the med ships were just about done cleaning the planets by then.
I find it easier to issue orders to the fleet on the map screen. In the medical ship mission I broke my fleet up and sent one ship to the same planet as the med ships went to.That's exactly what I ended up doing. It took me three missions to do, however, because as each med ship completed its mission and moved on, I forgot to move the starship along with it (I was usually engaged in battle when I got the notification that they were moving on to the next planet). So the med ship goes on its merry, undefended way to a corner of the map while the starship was all 'la la la, la la la' back at the previous planet. :)
I then sent the Enterprise there and she really took a beating but the Romulans seemed more interested in protecting their starbase until later in the mission when they went after the med ships but the med ships were just about done cleaning the planets by then.Out of curiosity, have you been able to destroy the Romulan base? Even my heavy battlecruiser didn't make a dent in its shields. I'm contemplating throwing all my ships against it at once to see what happens.
No, they cleaned the planets before the base went down.
I just was playing the Poison Well mission and lost it. Did not take out enough of those starbases before the Romulans made enough toxin. I will retry that one.
I like this as its a real break from most of games out there and I do enjoy the storyline as well. I will try multiplayer soon.
Is there co-op in the campaign or just in skirmish mode? Thats one thing I like about GOW is you can get help to finish your single player campaign.
Islanti 12-18-06, 03:04 PM Out of curiosity, have you been able to destroy the Romulan base? Even my heavy battlecruiser didn't make a dent in its shields. I'm contemplating throwing all my ships against it at once to see what happens.I tried with a Battleship one time and it got worked. I never really bothered again. It wasn't necessary to complete the mission and I ended up needing my 4 ships towards the end to keep all 3 med ships alive (for the achievement).
I just was playing the Poison Well mission and lost it. Did not take out enough of those starbases before the Romulans made enough toxin. I will retry that one.You can destroy the toxin transport ships before they escape to keep the toxin levels to zero (and buy more time). I used two Cruisers and 2 Battleships. Have the Cruisers chase down and destroy the transports while the Battleships take out the bases.
Is there co-op in the campaign or just in skirmish mode? Thats one thing I like about GOW is you can get help to finish your single player campaign. No co-op campaign. There's just a "wave" mode, where you fight more and more, stronger and stronger ships of a specific race (Borg, Romulan, etc.). Fun for a bit, but I found it dull after a few games.
joewagner501 12-18-06, 03:25 PM I was able to take out the Romulan station but lost all my medical ships because I wasn't protecting them. Losing the medical ships loses the level and you have to start over again. I tend to keep all my ships bunched up and attacking the same target. Makes for shorter fights and then I'm on to the next location using warp to move around the map quickly. Has worked for me so far. If I seperate my ships they always get killed.

Interesting. What type of ships did you use? I had two cruisers (Enterprise types), a destroyer of some kind, and a Battleship at that point IIRC. Had no problems splitting them up, although sometimes it took them a while to kill off all the bad guys.
I know this may not be everyones cup of tea but I am having a blast in the single player campaign.
I think the game is a lot of fun too. the only thing I don't like is the lack of mid mission saves. I was almost done with the fourth mission last night when somehow I initiated a self destruct on the enterprise. I couldn't figure out how to abort it so the mission ended.

One of the best scenes in Star Trek history.
I can't wait to get this title.
HeadRusch 12-19-06, 03:08 PM So how much "scrambling" do you have to do in this game......if its a frantic controller masher thats one thing, or is it more like "fire on this ship, target their shields" or whatever??
I've only dabbled in the Star Trek Armada games once upon a time, mostly with the demos.
PS: I can say nerds, becuase I loves me some star trek..the Original Series is borderline religion to me.....but when you get to quoting which characters obtained which RANK in which STARDATE, its time to think about therapy :D
Kinda like that movie TREKKIES. Man if ever a movie made you cringe in your seat. I've been to Star Trek conventions (Hey, I was like 12)...but at 30+, those people are downright scary. I applaud the people who go hog-wild with the makeup, but the truly nerdy nerd types are like 1 phaser blast away from Unibomber status :D
I would say it is the speed of an RTS. You can make it really simple, but there will be some parts where you need to use more advanced attacks and spread out your forces.

Oh, I know you were kidding, really. To be perfectly honest, whether you want to admit it or not, if you're posting on this site, you're a nerd.
Myself included! :D
Now, I was a TNG guy. And I have this one on my rental queue...as the #1 game coming next. But I never got dressed up or anything....not that I look down on that either. Its actually kinda impressive the length people go...scary, but impressive none-the-less.

totalownership 12-22-06, 03:25 AM This Game got a 7.2 (out of 10) on Gamespot...
http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/sim/startreklegacy/review.html
The game is about a 7.2 in reality. Online is just plain f'ed up. Even if it did work as the developers intended it would leave ALOT to be desired. Once an online match is over IT'S OVER. No talking with the guys you just finished playing with, no lobby, no real indepth stats. No replays NOTHING. Everyone is cut off mid-sentence and sent to one of the most generic end of game screens I"ve seen since Atari. Name , ships you killed, ships you lost and your "CP" points.
Getting a match to work online is voodoo and only a select few seem to have "the proper internet connection" to host a match. I've NEVER had a problem hosting ANY game yet this one doesn't even get me to the hosting options. The second I click "Host Match" and i mean the very second it tells me "Not a sufficient internet connection..."blah blah blah. Wow how can it determine that fast? A good tracerroute or ping is at least gonna take a few seconds to do determine something. This thing pops up as you're lifting your thumb off the A button. Death Match and a Co-OP Wave are the only two options and both are limited to only 4 players online. Now those 4 players had better not think about having the max 4 ships between them cause it's drop city if they do. Once you're playing you're good to go for the most part but you can still get dropped. I can go on about online multiplayer but suffice it to say it's pretty much broken and an exercise in frustration.
Single player is better. There are some disturbing things though. Ship graphics look very good to me, extremely well modeled as do other things in the game. However when something blows up it's best to look away and picture what it would have looked like in the Star Trek episodes. Unless you like the look of exploding LEGO. The destruction of objects, particularly space stations look like garbage. In all honestly if a ship with crazy glue flew by and phasered some glue the stations could be reassembled, all 6 parts of it that were so-called 'blown' apart. As a person who didn't watch much Star Trek like others here I really liked the DS9 series. A captain I could relate to. A REAL plot instead of 60 minute hitter quitters. And a cool little ship. Imagine the Defiant uncloaking barrelling down on you from a 45 degree elevation, upside down , lighting up the top of your ship up like a christmas tree, barrell rolling to fall in position right behind you and finishing off your tail pipe like you know you like it. LOL, Well if that imagine comes to your head forget about it when you play this game. NO SHIP FLIES UPSIDE DOWN AT ALL. NO ROLLS. If it's possible I don't know how to do it. That, to me, is a KEY element of space combat, hell, ANY kind of combat that's not on the ground and for it to not exist is just plain wrong.
There are a number of other things just off with this game but when you can look past all that, and you're gonna need a telescope to look past it all, then you can enjoy the game for what it is and not what common sense dictates it should have been.
A PATCH IS NEEDED FOR ONLINE PLAY. THAT IS SOMETHING THAT CANNOT BE OVERLOOKED AT ALL.
Stryker412 12-22-06, 08:49 AM I played the first mission last night. It sounded to me like Bakula couldn't even be bothered to be there. Anyway, after playing the first level I was struck by one thing. This seems to be Star Trek: Encounters (PS2) only slightly upgraded. I played quite a bit of Encounters and Legacy feels like it's slightly big brother. The music is exactly the same and the missions seem to have the same feeling. The only real big difference are the graphics and the voice overs.
After waiting months for this game I'm pretty disappointed.
totalownership 12-22-06, 10:22 AM I played the first mission last night. It sounded to me like Bakula couldn't even be bothered to be there.
Yeah he sounds like he has script in one hand and the other hand out waiting for the checks for each line he speaks. Or maybe these guys only do their best acting when they have the uniforms on in front of a camera. Oh and if you think Bakula is bad wait till you get a load of Kirk's personal log. I swear dude sounds like he's trying to get into your pants with a personal log. Everytime I hear it I'm just waiting for some Barry White to breakout in the background and for him to throw in a few "Oh yeahs" and "Yeah babies".

Stryker412 12-23-06, 02:41 PM Anyone know how to get the manual when renting from Gamefly? I need to know what some of these symbols are for the ship specs.
Edit: Nevermind, figured it out. Man bugs/graphic issues aside, this game is fun. I've been playing all day.
Stryker412 12-24-06, 02:38 PM Has anyone gotten the achievement in "Revelations"? I'm going nuts trying to save the sensor relays.
I'm no longer a Star Trek nerd, at 48 years of age I have out grown the urge to buy everything Trek. I'm going to wait for a price drop or get my hands on a used copy. As a life long PC gamer I refused to pay 60 bucks for a game.
3 day owner of xbox360 :p
Nice to know there are some other old farts on here. As a kid, I always looked forward to my annual visits to the arcade in underground Atlanta with great anticipation. I still remember the first time I saw a "video" game there. It was the model in the link below with the futuristic "organic" red cabinet:
http://www3.sympatico.ca/maury/games/space/spacewar.html
JeffChap 12-26-06, 02:08 AM Ah yes, I remember being blown away the first time I played that game, also in the red cabinet. Had to be in the mid '70s, in the first arcade I ever saw at a local shopping mall in Oklahoma City.
HeadRusch 12-26-06, 09:10 AM I played that in this cabinet:

I can remember the first time I saw the Star Trek sit-down game with digitized Spock voice.
Sit down in to the cabinet, with the spinner control on one side and the phaser/photon/sheild button on the other..man I felt like KIRK!

You know, before I answer any more questions there's something I wanted to say. Having received all your letters over the years, and I've spoken to many of you, and some of you have traveled... y'know... hundreds of miles to be here, I'd just like to say... GET A LIFE, will you people? I mean, for crying out loud, it's just a TV show! I mean, look at you, look at the way you're dressed! You've turned an enjoyable little job, that I did as a lark for a few years, into a COLOSSAL WASTE OF TIME!I mean, how old are you people? What have you done with yourselves?
You, you must be almost 30... have you ever kissed a girl?
I didn't think so! There's a whole world out there! When I was your age, I didn't watch television! I LIVED! So... move out of your parent's basements! And get your own apartments and GROW THE HELL UP! I mean, it's just a TV show dammit, IT'S JUST A TV SHOW!
:D
Seriously, does anyone know the difference in the graphics between the PS2 version and the Xbox 360 one.
If I wanted such a thing as a "life", I wouldn't be playing video games! :)
Stryker412 12-26-06, 06:38 PM Can we get back on topic?
Has anyone gotten the achievement in "Ambush"?
WilliamR 12-29-06, 09:46 AM How do I get all my ships to warp at the same time. When the mission first starts, they all seemed to be linked because when I select a destination and hit A they all engage impulse and go there. If there is a battle, they all engage the target I select. But if I go to warp, they all stay at impulse. I tried also selecting my entire fleet with the directional pad and the A button, they all say they are ready and their ship pulses, everything works then except when I go to warp. Any thoughts?

Any thoughts? You can get all ships to hit warp speed by going to your tactical map, pointing your cursor where you want your ships to go, and hitting the Y button. Note that they may not all jump to warp at the same time; some of them may take a few extra seconds to get the proper orientation in space.
Stryker412 12-30-06, 03:11 PM If anyone wants to play some MP, add me.
I rented it but didn't care for it much. Seemed kinda slow but maybe I didn't play it long enough.
WirelessGuru 01-10-07, 03:23 PM I got this game for Christmas and am very disappointed.

Because.....?
WilliamR 01-10-07, 04:19 PM I am having trouble getting past the asteroid/meteor part. I can't destroy them fast enough. I break my fleet apart, but they just sit there. I switch to one guarding a planet, and have it attack, but sometimes when I switch back to another ship, they all try to come and attack what I am attacking across the map. If they don't they don't attack any meteors by themselves after I click on the first one. This is crazy, their whole fleet command and AI is horrible, so pissed. I love this game, its heaven for me (HUGE star trek geek), but so frustrating at the same time.

Anyone have any suggestions?
Stryker412 01-12-07, 09:19 AM Yeah the problem is your leaving your entire fleet selected so when you give a command so they all do it. You need to push (with the d-pad) the direction of the ship you want for a second. This will select only that ship and you can give each ship directions.
The first thing to do is take your entire fleet immediately to where they asteroids spawn. Then once you get there select only the ship your controlling, and the other ships will destroy anything close to them. Do this for awhile until you see the cutscene. Take the Stargazer immediately back to the station and pick up a phaser turret. Take it to the first sensor relay, and then repeat for the other sensor relay. This will protect both sensors for the achievement. After that go back and take a phaser turret to each planet to finish. While you're going back and forth with the turrets switch to the tactical map and make sure your other ships are getting the asteroids that will hit the planets (the ones in the red brackets).
WilliamR 01-12-07, 10:28 AM Thanks, I'll try again this weekend.
pokey2121 01-12-07, 12:45 PM I also found that if you pick destroyer type ships this mission is alot easier. They don't pack alot of fire power but for this mission you don't need alot. Also if any of the astroids get past you they are fast enough to catch up and destroy the astroids. Another thing about this mission is that some astroids collide with planets even if the red brackets aren't on them so keep a close watch on the tactical map.
Trust me this mission royally blows donkey balls.

Great, another evening of playing one mission over and over again for hours. So fun.
Stryker412 01-12-07, 01:25 PM The mission itself isn't very hard. What is controller breaking frustrating is keeping those sensor relays intact.

:D This is sounding like a good game to me to where if it gets you to the point of frustration then it must be giving you a challenge which is what I like. When I am in the same boat I know I have played too many hours on a part like GOW for example but the next day I get back on it and can get to where I need past what I need to beat.
Chalk another game on my list to get.
Do what I do either take a break for later or switch to a different game that will get you refocused.
:D This is sounding like a good game to me to where if it gets you to the point of frustration then it must be giving you a challenge which is what I like.I agree that challenge is a good thing... but it can be a problem in Legacy (and especially in the stellar debris mission) when there are no checkpoints and you have to play huge, boring swaths of the game over. Some of the challenge also comes from poor design; in this mission you're supposed to drag turrets to certain spots in 3D space, but the game doesn't give you any way to set coordinates for the spots so you end up flying there manually. The target areas are really teeny and it's very easy to fly above or below them accidentally, meaning you have to turn your lumbering starship around and try again... by which time, one of the planets is likely to be wiped out by the debris.
Chalk another game on my list to get. Maybe you can check it out when you swing by my place next month (and heck, if you want to borrow it, be my guest). Ultimately it was a fun game with a lot of geek out moments, so you ought to give it a look at least.
Stryker412 01-13-07, 06:35 PM Anyone who has this want to play MP? Add me.

I am taking about a month of leave when I get off my car should be delivered by the time I get back which is around 20 Feb. I need to find a house to rent like a 3 bedroom. I am looking in the Sherwood, NLR area tring to stay as close to the base as I can. But will find some time for sure to meet.
Stryker412 01-14-07, 01:24 AM I finished the game tonight at 100%. phew...
Flyhigh 01-26-07, 08:04 PM During the on line co-op mode, is it normal for the game to end after losing only 1 ship? While playing with a friend, we'll each command 4 ships, for a total of 8. As soon as one of our ships is destroyed, that's it, game over. That sucks! Is there anyway to change this? The respawn option doesn't seem to do anything. This problem also occurs during some deathmatch games as well. Sometimes, when playing with multiple ships when one is destroyed, the game will continue, but sometimes when one of my 4 ships is destroyed, game over. What's the deal?
redcorvette_85 01-27-07, 03:57 PM I am not sure because I never played online when I rented it, but in the main missions if your command ship dies you fail, but you can lose the other 3 ships normally without a problem. So make sure and protect the ship thats on the top of the plus on the directional pad and see if that makes a differnce. It was a fun game, but has some serious control issues. If they had a guard command and a better way to set you course I probably would have bought it.
modiGTI 01-27-07, 04:09 PM Are they releasing a demo anytime soon? My local Hollywood dosen't have the game yet, so it would be nice to try it out.
FreeBaGeL 02-17-07, 10:34 PM Sorry for the bump, but I just got this game in from gameznflix and am wondering if the limit on ships for your fleet is always set at 4. It won't let me buy any more ships after I have 4, is this always the max?
Flyhigh 02-18-07, 12:52 AM Yep, 4 is the max. That is at any given time though. You can set respawns.
FreeBaGeL 03-02-07, 01:22 AM Wow...whoever thought up this asteroid mission should be shot. This is the most frustrating, most pointless, and most broken mission I've ever played in a game. I fiiiiiiinaallllyyyy got past the part to set up the defense turrets, and then there's some giant asteroid and magically two of my ships disappear (their coordinats show up as negative 2 billion mbps and it's just all black around them, don't even show up on the tactical map) and it tells me to drag the smaller asteroids in front of the large one....which is great except that I CAN'T SELECT ANY OF THE SMALLER ASTEROIDS. Anytime I point at one and hold A my screen goes black for a few seconds, then when it comes back up I'm looking at one of the turrets in the complete opposite direction.
I have never been half this frustrated with a level before, and will probably cause me to just toss away the whole game even though up to this point it's been a lot of fun. How this one got past the testers is beyond me.
Hammer65 03-02-07, 02:45 PM I hear you. I rented the game and that mission was the one that caused me to return it unfinished. Otherwise it was fun up that point.
