YES!!!

perfect!

Thanks!!

so what did you use to fuse the 3 cabinets together?(screws obviously but does IKEA have a seperate part # for it or do the cabinets come with it?)

I'm curious to see how you "joined" these cabinets together as well. I just went to Ikea to check them out based on this thread and they look perfect for my space, but I don't want any sort of gap between the 2nd and 3rd columns so to speak.

oh yes.....took many years and many speaker buy/sell to save for these...it sounds stupid but i always dreamed of owning these...

def tech bp towers, clr2300 center and bpx surrounds. as well as a 3d a5-350 with e 550w powered 15".... its a beautiful thing.

thanks

and you..????

Well I'm in the young years of my set up, and I don't really have the best space for a dedicated sub (or the money now!!), but i've got bp7004's for the mains, bp6b's for the back L/R, and sm350's for the center channel and back center. I'm considering moving that back center to the front and just having the two act as a phantom center. Who knows. I'd love to change out my bp6b's and get 2 or 4 bpx's. Either that or a dedicated sub will be the next step, but it could be a while since we just had a kiddo recently....

You just cant beat IKEA for cheap effective media consoles and storage solutions.

I did my whole HT for a little over $600 (link to pics in my sig line)
(4 bookcases, TV bench, side tables, a floating shelf and 4 lamps)

After assembling the shelf I stand partially corrected. The last page of the instruction book indicates that you can simply put a screw through one of the adjustable shelf holes in the sidewall to connect units side by side. They even provide 2 screws of the correct length.

Haven't tried it yet as I'm still setting up, but it should work fine for something that is sitting on the floor and won't be moved around.

There's no problem using photobucket as long as you keep your buckets up to date! What is the alternative? Anyplace that you host photos is only going to be as up to date as you keep it, right?

I have to ask, only because it's always bugged me. Those little circles that appear in your photos, what causes that? I know it's an issue with my camera (and yours too apparently), but can it be fixed?

dust on the lens.

Could be dust on the lens. It looks more like the lighting in the room or the flash from the camera reflecting off the dust particles in the air, though. Dust actually on the lens would look a bit different.

from a while ago.

switched to ATT U-Verse so there's a different set top box, and consolidated the modem/router to a single piece of equipment. put the speaker covers on too.

i'd like a little bigger TV, but as you can see space is tight unless i put it on the wall which i don't want to do. 46'' is all i have room for.

Energy C50s all around, 5.1 running through denon 1908.

custom cabinet that i designed and had someone make for me, i had to stain it though. the equipment should get decent ventilation, though it'd probably be better if i didn't have the AVR and PS3 on the same side. there are notches in the dividers and shelves to allow me to run all the cables inside the cabinet.

Nice setup, but don't be surprised if your PS3 dies from overheating. It doesn't look like there is much ventilation room above the system. Can you switch it with what's at the very top?

yea i know. I've kept an eye on it ever since I put it there. The 722k on top is there cause it doesn't fit anywhere else.

It gets warm in there but not that bad. And the PS3 is used in 2-3 hour intervals. Mostly just for movies.

There is a hole in the back of the bookcase for the wires. I might have to add a few more for ventilation or maybe a fan.

Thanks for the concern though.

Thanks. The reason I don't put it on the right side is because I don't want extra wires coming from that side.

I went ahead and moved the top movable shelf up one spot so that I can give the PS3 more head room. Hope it helps.

Thanks for the comments. It's a Pioneer Elite 92TXH. I'm only driving the rear surrounds with it and use my Rotel to drive my front sound stage. I've had other brands of receivers (Sony, Yamaha, Onkyo) but I have always liked the Pioneer sound. Very warm and pairs well with my speakers.

The black things are acoustic panels that I built myself about 5 years ago. I just used some MDF board and frames some insulation inside them. Finally I covered them with transparent speaker fabric. Pretty easy DIY job.

My speakers are B&W 602 S3. I have really enjoyed them (had them about 8 years now) but I think I'm going to upgrade to some floorstanding speakers soon.

A few questions...

Is that 100" diagonal or 100" wide?
How far back is your projector?

I'm looking at the Panny 4000, and 100" screen.
How do 2:35:1 movies look?

yes you need to give that onkyo more room you are asking for a disaster..

I'm surprised that D-link hasn't melted yet, considering how hot routers get and since it's sitting on top of the onkyo. It is open on all sides though, so it may be OK.... but mine is in a similar setup except I have about 2.5" of clearance above the onkyo

Pictures were taken quickly with my cell phone so they're not that great. Wires are everywhere at this moment after i just hung my tv and installed in the new Emotiva pre/pro. But playing COD and watching blurays on the PS3 is pretty mind blowing.

Very nice equipment. I can see that you have some SVS in your gear. Who are the center and front mains made by? They are sweet.

aboroth00 those speakers look really close to the older Infinity Prelude line (just not the right color). Who's the manufacturer?

100" diagonal, the projector is 17 feet back from the screen. My screen is 16:9. The black bars are pretty close to grey for 2:35:1 movies from what I have seen so far. I would believe the Epson UB series projectors would give you closer to real black bars.

The above poster is right they are infinity speakers. It is actual from the Prelude line before the latest MTS line. They were Infinity's top of the line speakers in 95' before they were replaced by the MTS Prelude speakers. My fronts and surrounds are Infinity Compositions Prelude P-FR and the center is the P-CC. They're pretty old and i had to get them refoamed recently after I just purchased them but they definitely give you bang for your buck.

Here's my living room setup...please excuse the mess. I didn't realize you could see the wire mess behind the table.

Panasonic TC-P54G10
Pioneer VSX-1019 AH-K
PS3 120gb (Drakes Fortune bundle)
Nintendo Wii
Xbox 360
DirecTV HD20 (not a DVR, just HD)
Polk TSi500 fronts, CS20 center, TSi400 surrounds
Energy ESW8 sub (it's a small room, so does just fine)

NOw that you mention it I can make out the logo on one of the close up shots. Interesting, don't see too many around with those Prelude speakers anymore. They were awesome speakers if you didn't mind the subpar sub (even with their excellent sub calibration). I didn't know they made them in charcoal (which is what those appear to be).

regarding the placement issues, it could be fixed pretty easily, just slide the tv and the right speaker over a bit and put the sub in the corner by the blinds. It would drive me nuts to look at that lol.

I didn't know they made them in charcoal (which is what those appear to be).I used to own a pair of Compositions Overture 1s and 2 pairs of the QPS-1 quadrapoles back in the mid 90's. Sold them to fund an upgrade to NHTs. Nice speakers for what little I paid for them. I actually paid for a pair of the QPS-1s on sale and the stock people at Circuit City gave me a box that contained 2 pairs.

Yes, before the MTS line, which is the Prelude Composition's successor, they were charcoal. The older line originally made in 95' did not have sub calibration. So they're in fact probably older than the speakers you're thinking about (MTS prelude).

I'd have to agree the sub, being in such a small enclosure can't dig as deep or as hard as most other subs. However, as you can see i've added some SVS subs to help :D. I would have to say for the price i paid, they're awesome. I even picked up another pair to use as surrounds (overkill i know). But in fact they do make a difference compared to the previous pair i used.

Unfortunately, I'm away from my setup right now and my only camera which i use for ebay purposes is broken. The cell phone is the best I can do until I can borrow someone else's camera.

I see that you're locatedin Socal. Where exactly may i ask.

I hadn't had the chance to really tidy up the wiring as I just installed the new Emotiva pre/pro. Still not sure whether it's worth it to keep so I haven't really gotten around to consolidating my wires. Will do when my setup is moreo assured! For now, I'll buy one of those things to hide the wires from my tv coming down.

Why do you ask? You went into my Photo's and gave me a (2) with no reason why. You should go back and put down the problem you have with my system instead of doing a hit n Run! I would like to learn on how I can make my system better, well unless your intent was different?

Tigre, do you think my systems deserve a (2) rating? Aboroth told me that he gave his friends his account and they trashed me, but, he cant make it right. Because he can’t figure out how to cancel the post or edit. Can you help him? Geez, I think I should at least get a 5 with an explanation :)

I never wonder into the member's gallery section so I do not know how to remove the little rating. I made my apology for the mishap and all i got from him were snarky little comments. I'm based out of a college campus my computer so many people have access to it because it's lying around.

People need to seriously calm down about this stuff. When a person gets mad over a picture rating, it seriously gets ridiculous. I tried to do the honorable thing and apologize and rectify the situation.

This is not the forum to make attacks or TALK ABOUT PICTURE ratings. His setup is fine IMO. I seriously could care less about anyone's picture ratings.

Nah I don't think you deserve a 2 but I also feel that you should take the positive feedback and just run with that. I don't know if he's telling the truth and I don't know how to change it but you really should just ignore it. I know it screws with your rating system but who cares man. If you believe you have a kickass system then it doesn't matter what others think... if it's negative. Now if someone is giving you + feedback and some suggestions I think you should listen because the people here are very knowledgeable

I am just giving him a hard time, because after I disagreed with him, he went into my pic's and gave me a (2).
