Aside from the OBVIOUS: Star Wars, Aliens movies, name the UNANNOUNCED titles you looking forward to?

Starship Troopers. The once DVD reference. Not much of a movie, but great popcorn flick and should look stunning in HD. I'm surprised this hasn't been annnounced yet.

The Day after tommorrow - Can you imagine this in DTS MA?

Master and Commander - Umm, DTS MA = drool

Daredevil Director's Cut

Fight Club - Need I say more?

Man on Fire - "I wish you had... more time"

Mr. and Mrs Brad Pitt - Haha! I enjoyed this flick.

Titan AE - A great anime and I would love to see it at its peak.

Starship Troopers would be nice however it's a Sony release.

Oops! Darn! I thought it was a Fox title and not Sony. I guess I'll have to wait for the HD DVD version. :)

I wish Fox would do all titles never on D-Theater tape since I have like 35 Fox tapes, which certainly isn't turning out to be the case so far.

I'd like Aliens to go with my Alien tape. I'd love Meet The Fockers to go with my Meet The Parents tape. I'd also like Sink The Bismarck for a classic B & W film.....

the Meet the parents movies are universal, so they are HD-DVD only for now. I would love to see Aliens and Predator on BD, as well as Titan AE which I loved as well. I also concur with Starship Troopers, that would look amazing on BD if done right. And while I am not sure if it was a Fox or MGM release, I would love to see a BD version of the 80's animated Bakshi feature the Wizards and Fire and Ice.

I will definitely be buying some of these.....and have already owned most of them on D-theater.

Let's start with all the titles that are already on DTheater. There's no reason why those shouldn't be out already, and let's take it from there...

I agree with whoever posted Daredevil Director's Cut. A much better movie than Daredevil. They are actually two seperate movies, and the normal version frankly, sucks. Why it was released on DTheater over the Director's Cut is a mystery to me.

I Robot anyone? This was the best DVHS I ever saw. I think all of the other titles have already been mentioned.

Not a FOX movie, but the one I want to see on BD the most is Lawrence of Arabia. Hopefully Sony doesn't screw this one up!

The Towering Inferno

(I suppose that since I paid $50 for the Laser Disc version, I should not complain if a Blu-ray version costs $30 or more...)

Pretty sure quite a few HD-DVD fans could say the same of Fox and Disney.

True Lies...yes....and ID4

ID4 is going to take some updating to not look bad. Some of those special effects were done very poorly, and you can see matte lines, etc. on the last two DVD releases of it that I have. I would think a BD of it would only make the defects more obvious.

ID4 is a bit soft looking.... but it's the result of the original photography and SFX.

DareDevil directors cut! I liked a majority of it much better, but some of the Coolio scenes should have been trimmed a bit more...

They should do seamless branching of theatrical and director's cut version - both with lossless/uncompressed audio - on one BD50 disc.

Did you know that there are other studios besides Fox that are supporting Blu-ray? ;)I'll bet he does know that ... but perhaps like so many other HT enthusiasts, he may have made a significant purchase because of all the "announced" BD releases earlier in the year (I don't know that he did, just conjecture).

I decided to get the BDP10 when there finally was a BD that I wanted ... but, I have to tell you, all the promises by FOX factored into that move. So I paid $900 for the Panasonic player ... a good price at the time. And now it sits ... vastly underutilized ... waiting for the "good stuff".

Had I waited longer (and I would have had I known about this FOX drought), I would have saved a lot of money on the BD format player.

So yeah, FOX ... don't just stand there, do something!

dust isnt good for it one bit... its already loud without it, and with it clogging up ventilation it will probably blow up or something lol

"We are looking forward to this pivotal year and the ultimate
establishment of Blu-ray as the high-definition packaged media standard. In
fact, Blu-ray sales performance surpassed HD-DVD for the first time the week
of December 24 and did so by an impressive 20 per cent. What's more, by the
end of the first quarter our research shows the sales gap widening to Blu-ray
outselling HD DVD by a 3.5-to-1 ratio," noted Mike Dunn, President Worldwide,
Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. "We remain extremely encouraged by
the growth in sales and player penetration and are fully committed to creating
the most compelling products possible and to the continued pioneering
development of BD with our partners."

Proprietary Fox Research incorporating industry data shows Blu-ray Disc
eclipsing HD DVD on a weekly sales basis as noted in chart below.

Fox is one of the first studios to release titles with advanced BD-Java
interactivity as well titles on dual-layer 50 GB Blu-ray Discs. MGM will
release its first 50 GB dual-layer Blu-ray disc later in January with the
debut of Flyboys. Fox has plans to release eight additional 50 GB BD in the
first half of 2007 beginning with The Fly (1986) in April.

The studio's upcoming North American slate features a wide range of
titles that will benefit from the incredible audio and video elements of the
Blu-ray format. All of Fox's BD releases are aimed at the core early adopter
and include:

<<
January 23 Alien Vs Predator, Men of Honor, Courage Under Fire
February 13 The Sentinel, Entrapment, Broken Arrow, Phone Booth,
Planet of the Apes (2001), Chain Reaction, The Marine
March 13 Ice Age, Dodgeball, Commando, From Hell
April 3 The Fly (1986), Tristan & Isolde, Me, Myself & Irene,
Dude, Where's My Car?
April 17 Turistas
May '07 Master & Commander, Man on Fire, Edward Scissorhands,
Predator, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,
The Siege
June '07 Independence Day, I, Robot, Cast Away
>>

Additionally, a stellar line-up of BD releases for North America are
coming from MGM and include:

<<
January 30 Flyboys, Hart's War
February 13 The Usual Suspects
March 13 Dances with Wolves, The Thomas Crown Affair, Hoosiers
April '07 The Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal
May '07 Platoon, The Graduate, Battle of Britain,
A Bridge Too Far
June '07 Ronin, To Live & Die in L.A., A Fistful of Dollars,
Out of Time, Walking Tall, Bull Durham

So glad that they understand that its a pivotal year for establisment. We wouldnt want them to slack off or anything like that.

I wonder what there research shows about us consumers that actually paid 1k for players in part due to these announcements. I autta sue them for the price of the player back

The Edge

I have it on laser disc and dvd but, sadly the dvd is non-anamorphic and they never came out with an enhanced version on dvd so, this is the one I would buy on Blu-Ray.
