I have 14 new blu-ray movies on the way to me for about $15.70 each :D :D :p

This will take my collection up to 21 titles since I got my PS3 from Japan, yay!

The Blu-ray titles on Buy.com are cleverly priced. Usually 27 and 20, so you're usually under the $50 limit.

What I do is add a cheapie CD for $3-5 incl. shipping, so I get two new Blu-ray titles and a cheapie CD for $31-32 after Google's discount. Not too shabby...

By the way...anyone know how long Google's discount will last?

Exactly. I'm not interested in most of the HD-DVD movies that are out but I am interested in many of the Blu-Ray movies. Both look much better then DVD's and they bring out the best in my HDTV. With an HD-A2 and a PS3 I can watch any movie that I want to. In the mean time my HD-DVD Xbox add-on will hold me over until my A2 and PS3 come in December. December is going to be an expensive month :D

Yeah, I would say I went a little nuts.

I spent $165.22 for a total of 10 Blu-ray titles; total average price for each was $15.02 (remember FREE shipping; no tax in NY).

But these are the first Blu-ray titles I order for my new PS3, so I needed to start a collection somewhere eventually... I would've ordered more, but I wasn't too interested anything else.

Here are the titles I got (separate orders so I could get the $20 off $50):

5 of my 6 have shipped, all separately. The 6th, 'Speed' BD still shows in stock, but hasn't shipped yet even though that is my oldest order. Buy.com probably gives lowest priority to Google orders, especially ones w/budget shipping.

Yes on the first question, and yes on the second, if you want to.

I think the slowdown is due to the fact that more people are using Buy.com now to buy stuff with Google Checkout. When I ordered mine, it was "processing" for about half a day, "Sent To Warehouse" for 1 day, and "Shipped" in 1 day. And the next day it arrived. :D

Don't complain much if you're not going to pay for the express service and shipping!

They'll email you when they ship, but their budget shipping can be extraordinarily slow. I'm still waiting for 3 HD-DVDs that were supposedly shipped on 11/22. If they don't show up in tomorrows mail, I'm going to have to call them.

This actually kinda sucks. But also note that it's not the UPC you have to cut out, it's the proof of purchase (which is actually a much small box). It's about half the size of a dime.

Personally, I don't want to have to cut them up, but with the printed paper being behind the plastic sleeve, it won't really harm the functionality of the paper and, even though we like to consider ourselves collectors, these aren't comic books. They do not decrease in monetary value just because a little tiny box has been cut from the artwork.

If you're really concerned about the sloppiness of it all, use an exacto-knife and a ruler to make really clean, straight cuts. That seems to be the best way to do it.

Great -- $499 for a PS3 and now I have to go out and spend $4.99 on an exacto!!!

I suppose you don't have to get your $10 rebate for each Blu-Ray you buy from a different studio. ;)

I had 2 orders that were placed on Nov 30. On Dec 5, I emailed them asking the status of those orders. They never responded, but within an hour, they showed as shipped and I received emails stating both orders shipped.

There is a printable receipt on buy.com's website. You can take your buy.com order number from the google page and go to buy.com's site....look up your google order(there is actually a google or buy.com order look-up on their site)and print out your receipt. :cool:

quick question for a canadian,

it doesn't state anywhere what the prices are in. is it in american dollars, or does it convert the price to canadian based on ip.

Yes the status changes to something that states it has reached your local sorting faclity and then has left said facility. After talking to BUY.com they said you should expect your order in no more than NINE BUSINESS days from the time you see it arrived in KY shipping center.

As for me, I ordered 3 discs, 2 arrived, one I expect tomorrow. Funniest thing is this:

It says they tried to deliver the 2 discs this morning at 9:01 am, no one was available, and the discs may be "returned to sender if not picked up".

HOWEVER, the mailman just left a while ago (Noon time) and he gave them to me along with the rest of my daily mail. WTF!?!?!? That tracking info BLOWS.

I will totally use Buy.com for this amazing discount, but will never again opt for free shipping. I will spend the extra $5, in turn receive $15 off essentially, and be happier for it.

I ordered 4 movies from them. 3 arrived fine (well 2 did, 1 had a broken case -- didn't care because it was a part of the case that didn't matter) and one arrived on the wrong format.

Trying to get an RMA number from them was like trying to cut my nails with a chainsaw. Although they are sending me a packing slip so I don't have pay for shipping (which made me happy and I wasn't really expecting that, but it's been like 2 weeks since I first requested an RMA number). I'm not sure the buy.com/googlecheckout thing was worth it -- I like google checkout, but this was not exactly the best experience.

My saga is finally over. My HD-DVD order on 11/21 that "shipped" on 11/22 finally showed up in my mailbox. So I guess 7-9 days really means a little over 3 weeks.

I bought my first two BR disks with this deal. I probably would not have even with the google deal if not for the Sony $10 rebates. The combo deal was too good to resist though since one title we have not seen (World Trade Center) and the other is a family B-Movie favorite. (Underworld: Evolution).

I've bought 40 Philip K Dick books, and about 20 Stanislaw Lem books through that discount, but I guess that's not really what this thread is about. ;)

But I've bought 8-10 HD-DVDs since they started with the $20 off $50, so it is a pretty awesome deal. Shipping speeds have ranged from good to great for me, using the free shipping method.

I bought the xbox 360 HD DVD add on but didn't receive an email confirmation. I just checked my credit card and it has been charged. I used the google check out just like before and recieved a purchase acknowledgement but not this time. Anyone else have this happend with buy.com and google check out?

I ordered MI3 and Superman Returns on 11/28. They still haven't arrived yet. When I check USPS I got this:

Yeah, your item is at a "blackhole" called Hebron, KY. One of my package was there for over a week. And then next thing you know, it was in my state. So I think it's just not updated at KY... but probably it gets moved. Slowly though. Now another package of mine is stuck at the blackhole. I never wanted to visit Kentucky before... but after having these problems, I am curious to see how they actually handle things in Hebron.

I'm in the same boat as a lot of you - some items shipped, some are still being PO'ed at their Vendors, some I have received.

Nope. It's more like Buy.com charges you the full amount but Google pays for the discount. They want you to use Google Checkout so that they can leverage its usage to more online retailers.

I've had 4-5 packages go through HEBRON, KY and all have stayed at that status until they were delivered. I checked the status of my remaining packages this morning and they still showed HEBRON, KY 11 days later. However, they were delivered this afternoon and still show that status. The status should be updated as delivered after tonight.

I take it back, I have missing orders now.

It has been almost a month on one order and I have not received the three movies!

I just know that 3 days after my initial order of 12 movies using free shipping I received my first 2, and today my 3rd. Hopefully every day they will keep coming.

I finally received the two movies I ordered. It only took them three weeks.

The problem is that I ordered two Blu-ray movies and the fudged that. They gave me on DVD and one Blu-ray so I had to send the DVD copy right back. I don't feel like calling them again because I'll be routed India to speak with "Bob" again.

Mine are still trickling in. I'd like to order Blackhawk Down and some other things (like an SACD called "Jazz at the Pawnshop" that some of you may recognize as historic) but those things are showing "on order", shipping in 1-2 weeks. Hopefully some of the regular items of those like BHD come in stock before the Google coupon runs out, so I can do that.

Have not had too many problems until recently. They shipped Enemy of the State and Field of Dreams on 12/12. I ordered Invincible and Corpse Bride on 12/20...received Invincible on 12/22. Some titles don't support the offer, so look at each movie before you add it to your cart.

I got 6 movies (all Tier 0 or 1) for like $95 using 3 seperate orders!

I had to go use one of our military networked computers, my connection sucks here and kept timing out. I ended up making 6 orders, 12 movies for an average of $16 each :)

Similar thing happened to me. I ordered M:I 3 back in late October and they sent be the regular DVD. I took an extraordinary amount of time to get them on the phone, but they did ship the replacement faster than they did with the first order.

it all depends on what shipping house its coming from. apparently buy.com has multiple. living in az i have had a majority of my discs go thru denvers shipping hub but a few have been "stuck" in KY. so you might end up in KY regardless of where you live.

yeah i considered doing the same thing. With my Crank fiasco, (that sounds dirty) :p I had to email them about the shipping label and they told me how to go thru the order tracking to get to the stupid label. they dont mail it and they dont email it. you just have to find out.

I see that Crank on BR is back ordered so even when they get the wrong DVD back, it will be february when I finally recieve the correct BR Crank.

Almost a month passed before they finally shipped but once they did i got the item in 2 days.

I did the same thing when they messed up my superman returns bluray order. You can always call them back and see if that's still an option.

They started catching it about the 2nd week of Jan. Back then they cancelled based on multiple similar emails, and CC. Now they have moved on to checking IP addresses. At least thats what I heard.
