I'm new to this forum. I recently just bought a Presidian DVD Recorder (model # 16-163) at Radio Shack early morning on Black Friday. It's my first (not-computer related) standalone DVD recorder. I know I can
1) record directly from TV
2) copy VHS tapes to DVD-R
3) copy (non copy-protected) DVDs
Question # 1
I have an old TV with just the RF antenna jack, plus multiple VCRs, and a DVD player all in one system. I'm not an expert with the connections and they are already confusing to me (even though I connected everything). I'm able to dub VHS tapes, copy DVD to VHS, etc,...
What's the easiest way to connect the new DVD Presidian Recorder without starting over redoing all of the connections ?
Question # 2
Any recommendations on DVD-Rs. The manual recommends Verbatim & Maxells DVD-Rs, but I was wondering what other brands work well. I'm specifically wanting the DVD-Rs to play in other cheap DVD players. (The manual says the recorder won't work with DVD+Rs.)
Question # 3
When I tried copying some material from a camcoder to the DVD Recorder, the resulting DVD-R was significantly less bright than the original. Why ?
Thanks to all,
Alan
