I have an Onkyo HT-R510 that came as as part of a theater in a box, which has worked fine, until today. I am not sure I have a receiver failure or what. Here is what's happening.

* Onkyo HT-R510 switched to Video 1. Normally gives Comcast cable TV picture and sound. Now, I get the picture, but no sound at all.

* Onkyo HT-R510 switched to DVD. Normally gives DVD picture and sound. With the DVD player OFF, I get no picture, but get the Comcast cable box sound.

No connections have been touched. I pulled components out and there are no apparent loose connections. Does the Onkyo receiver have its wires crossed inside?

I have a similar (or the same) problem. Just recently moved to a new location so had to disconnect my system. After reconnecting the receiver at the new location I find that I can no longer get sound through the receiver on any of the video connections.

When I go to DVD, I can hear the disk, but cannot see the picture.

Now I know I'm not crazy, because I've connected the system back the way how it was, and it was working perfectly in this configuration for almost 3 years!

The only difference is the cable box. At the old location I had Directv, but at the new location I had to get Comcast. Sound familiar??

Anyway, I'm kind of ticked right now because I can't get my system to work.

Any tips???

How do you do that?

Press the "Input Selector" button for which your components are connect to (DVD, VIDEO-1, VIDEO-2, VIDEO-3, TAPE or CD), see page 24 in OM.

Then press the "Digital Input" button, the display will show the currect source assignment (for example" DVD < COAX)

Using the "Digital Input" button again to cycle between COAX, OPT-1, OPT-2 and ----)

Default Settings are:
DVD --------COAX
VIDEO-1 (not assigned)
VIDEO-2-----OPT-2
VIDEO-3 (not assigned)
TAPE (not assigned)
CD ----------OPT-1
