Cnet gave this great reviews- has anyone actually heard this system?

The Sharp system is a new system. I saw the great review by Cnet too. I believe that Sharp has just started releasing the system so I don't think anyone has tried it. Today is only the second time that I have seen the system listed on the Sharp website. Last time it was listed only for one day. Maybe someone will take the dive and give the forum a review of it.

No video inputs/pass through, kinda dissappointing.

Anybody out there have this yet? I've got a small room and am considering buying direct from Sharp. Home Theater Mag just did a favorable review also.

I am looking at this myself as well as the Sound Matters Full Stage HD and the Denon S301. I am not sure which one to get. I don't really want to spend the cash on the Denon as I have an Oppo DVD player already. I do want Dolby Virtual Speaker and the Sound Matters Full Stage HD does not have that.

Looking at the Denon S-301 at Best Buy. That is darn nice. I can get it open box for $799. Hmm, I might go for it.

Yes... I bought one based on the Cnet review for my bedroom and am very happy with it. Great crisp sound that is perfect for the size room I have. I wouldn't recommend for a larger room but for a medium or smaller room it is awesome.

Can you put something on top of it? Like a cable box or does it have to be free for ventilation?
Thanks

I bought the Sharp and returned it. It was just not good enough for the room size I have. It was pretty good overall. But the surround effect was not as good as a real 5.1 setup. So I went with a true 5.1 setup, although a very small one. The Mirage Nanosat 5.1 system.

Did you find the Sharp at a local store? Or did you purchase & return online? I am very curious of this thing and have been for some time. I really wish it had an FM tuner in it and especially headphone output. While out Family (TV) room is a good size our house is small. So the wife and I listen to headphones basically everynight when watching movies and television. Is the RCA output for an optional sub crossed-over? Or is it a full frequecny output? Can there be 6 different sources hooked into it or does it "share? It has 3 digital and 3 analog. I am really interested in an al in one "faux" surround unit for now. I have Yamaha receiver and larger JBL's that I have not been able to use pretty much 95% of the time over last couple years. Looking for a comprimise with wifey on sound and aesthetics.

One year after this thread was started and this Sharp is almost impossible to find and buy. How can they make something decent, and then not sell hardly any of them? I can't even find it at Sharp Direct or Sharp Online!
