if so how does it look?
I'm debating between picking that up at the end of the month, or holding out for another month or so and getting the 42" Westy
Well I dont know about this monitor personally, but glad I saw this thread. I am looking for a computer monitor/tv to play my ps3 on in HD. Im holding off for the 2007 models and gonna buy 1080p 42"+ tv... but for now Id like to upgrade my computer monitor and use it for my ps3 also...
I see the resoultion on this monitor is high and also has HDMI slot, do will it play in 1080p??

Dead post revival. Yes it supports 1080p and it looks great. The models out at the time of this the original post did not have the 1:1 firmware so everything was streched to 1920x1200, not too big an issue with a 1080 source, but still not a fixed aspect ratio. I think the firmware update is started on the Jan `07 models, might have been the Dec `06. It cost me ~$60 in round trip shipping charges to get my firmware updated by BenQ, NC to CA and back. BenQ needs to let users do this them selves via one of the USB ports.
Your mileage will vary depending where you live and when you got your monitor. I've had mine since Feb 07 (Nov 06 manufacture, updated to 1:1 firmware) and can tell you that the unit lose 5% of the picture to overscan in 1:1 mode with a PS3/360 Elite. You get black borders around the entire picture, which is cropped. Switching to "aspect" mode simply stretches that cropped image to fill the screen. This is true of all inputss but the DVI, from what numerous users havew reported on the HardOCP forums. Only by using a HDMI-to-DVI adapter have people claimed they got an accurate picture. (Note that this supposedly affects only video signals, they report, not signals from PC videocards.) BenQ UK, Australia, and UK/EU have put out a fix for this which adds a menu option to turn off overscan. However, when I spoke to the North American BenQ tech support reps, I was told that, despite the fixes other markets have received, US/Canada doesn't look like it'll be getting the fix and would have to get a newer model down the line which may incorporate one.
