Bought the S50 car kit, home kit, and executive docking station about 5 or 6 months ago, sent in all the forms and UPC/SSN stuff and Sirius denies my rebate request. Somehow, amaaaaazingly, the UPC/SSN were "lost" between the point where I sealed them in the envelope and when their staff opened it (go figure).

Well, several letters (including photocopies of the original submission), two phone calls and an email have resulted in absolutely no action on Sirius's part. At this point, have little to no hope that they'll do the right thing and give me the $120 they owe me (every time I look at my S50, the first thought that pops into my head is: "Those %$*@(! stole $120 from me!"). Thinking about buying the www.siriusradiosucks.com domain name (yes, that this point I'm pissed off enough that spending more money to "hit back' IS worth it to me).

So, be fore-warned, if you're buying a Sirius radio and counting on some form of rebate, I am one person who can say "Don't count on ever seeing your money." As always, YMMV.

Sirius pulled the same crap with me on my S50. It is the typical rebate scam. I ended up calling the Customer Service dept. at Sirius every day until i finally asked for a supervisor who credited my credit card back the value of the rebate. Not that $50 will make or break me, but they made a deal and I was going to make them live up to their part of it.
Bottom line - get a supervisor, get their name and extension, and don't give up until they deliver.

I've had my Sirius 2+ years, but I remember getting my rebate ($50.00) and a gym bag (which shipped from a different place) "as advertised". I did have to make 1 call, I recall, to inquire, but the person had my info, they just go extra long on the processing time. Sorry to hear you got shafted.

Ok -- after many a phone call and being persistant, Sirius finally agreed to give me my $120 in rebates . . . in four to six weeks. We'll see what happens. Keeping my fingers crossed. If they do, I'll be using the rebate money to buy another Sirius receiver (this one for my home stereo) and a lifetime subscription.

I got my receiver last christmas and I think the rebate took close to six months to get. Updates on the website were not helpful either. I did get it though. Rebates do suck but I love my Sirius.

Yea because it takes 4 to 6 weeks to write a check.

Or because in 4 to 6 weeks they can make that $120 into $150 and pocket the $30

I sent all of the required items to SIRIUS to get a $70.00 rebate from when I bought a Home dock and a Stiletto 100 together . They sent me a card last week that said my rebate was invailid . They said they needed the UPC from the Stiletto . I don`t have one to send back because I already cut it out of the bottom of the box and sent it in with all of the rest last month . I guess I am SOL as I don`t have a UPC to send in now and what proof do I have they or the US Mail screwed it up . I tried to call the phone number on the card as instructed but that just gives you another number that you get no wheres at . They have quite a nice gig going for them and people actually like SIRIUS . I have nothing good to say about them period . I sent in a rebate form for my MYFI years ago and got a check no questions asked . I like SIRIUS less by the day .

You should always make a copy of everything before you mail a rebate, That way if it gets lost you can resubmit the copies to get the rebate. I have had to resubmit in the past, & always got my rebates in the end.

The UPC also had a big plastic thing that wouldn`t fit through the copy machine . I just got an email back a few minutes ago stating the same thing the non-compliance card said so I guess their is no human beings there or they can`t read english when I say " I don`t have a UPC from the box because it was mailed in with everthing else they requested " aover a month ago . Its like they don`t understand and just keep repeating themselves . I understand they have me by the short hairs and I don`t really have a leg to stand on . If theyreplied with that I would at least feel I got to a human being some where . I think maybe its time to go back to just XM . They handled their rebate perfectly .

Gary,

Sirius Rebates(actually rebates in general) are a BITCH.

But try this.

Do you still have your receipt from where you got the product? Hopefully at Circuit City, Best Buy, Sears, or Radio Shack.

If you did not send in the original(or AT LEAST made a copy) you may still have some hope, but you are going to have to call the customer service reps, AND ASK FOR A SUPERVISOR/or MANAGER.

If you still have a copy, now I am not 100% sure of this, but the products UPC code MAY be printed on the receipt.

Even if it is not, you may want too try something else.

If you bought it at Circuit City, or Best Buy especially, go to there customer service area, and explain your plight. They may(it worked for me, although it took over 8 months to get my rebate stuff straightened out).

They MAY have the original UPC info in there computer(plus, obviously, the date it was purchased, plus all other REBATE INFO you will need for the rebat ein question), AND LET THEM MAKE THE CALL WITH YOU THERE.

Usually, when they ask for a supervisor, and they state that THEY are the manager of the local retail outlet where the product is sold, that usually get's the ball rolling quicker.

Now here is something else you can try IF THEY APPROVE your rebate. I know you may have been waiting to use that $100 rebate check somewhere else, but when I had my problems with them I said, "Look, I like your service, can you just apply the $50 you owe me to my future 1-year prepaid, so I don't have to wait for a check? That way i know I am getting what I am owed?"

Believe me, they sure a s hell did that SUPER QUICK. I went and checked my account online. And sure enough, there was the $50 credit to my account. This was before my pre-paid period ended, so my next 1-year prepaid bill was $50 less than what it would have been.

Would I have rather have had the $50 check to spend on something else. Yes. But at least I got what htye owed me, and was not screwed in the end.

But please Gary, tell me you made copies of receipts(may not be the end of the world if you got it at Circuit City or Best Buy), and other rebate info?

This will help you tremendously. And I don't mean too sound like a stern dad/mom, or teach you a VALUABLE LESSON in Rebate claiming from anyone/anywhere.

I still have the original receipts and copies of the ones I sent to SIRIUS and I did get it at CC . I have comunicated with them 3 different times today . The last was them explaining to me that a Non- Compliance card was mailed to me and when I get it write a note explaining the situation . The card came last week and I just happened to of already done what they have told me . I get the impression that they may follow through with the rebate after I give them a written explaination which I did on the card and a few Emails . Twice they emailed me back saying they looked into my account and said I did not send the UPC in and I needed to do so ( No s --t ). I replied with " has anyone read my last three emails or is English a problem there , I have explained to you I HAVE NO UPC TO SEND BECAUSE I SENT THE ONLY ONE I HAD TO YOU OVER A MONTH AGO ! . I have not been to happy with the Stiletto 100 anyway and now they are putting the finishing touches on me having a sale .They may of made $70.00 on me but it very well may be the last dollar they receive from me . A sale may soon happen including car , home docks, and an outside antenna CATV distribution kit and a month old Stiletto 100. I doubt the $45.00 CC protection plan is transferable but I have it . Sorry to vent but this kind of thing bugs me and I don`t really have the time to deal with it .

Look at it this way.. I bought the Sirius Stiletto 100.. the home dock, then the car dock a week later.

A week or two later, they say they are offering rebates now for them. So yes at least you had a CHANCE for a rebate. Where i was screwed.

yes that had to suck , I can`t really blame anyone but myself . I didn`t research the Stiletto enough for one before I jumped in up to my ears and ended up not satisfied at all and I have always been entirely to trusting of others .

I'm dealing with Sirius right now - they state the original UPC was not included with my documentation.
I call and email someone everyday and depending on who you get over there, you get different answers.

I hava a copy of the UPC but they dont want it - this is going to be ugly.

Tell them you are going to contact your state's attorney generals office. Most states AG's have active cases against companies for not fulfilling their rebates.

worked for me with Office Depot.
