View Full Version : Legends of Jazz a no-go on my new PS3!

Having had half a day of uphoria over snagging a PS3, I finally slid in my Legends of Jazz Blu-Ray disc and got the dreaded "unable to read disc" message. My high came crashing down as I had been really hoping to see (and hear) these performances.

Has there been any indication from the distributor or Sony as to what is at fault? Is there an incompatibility with the two, or did I just get a bum disc?

If there's a software problem, is there a replacement fix forthcoming?

Help a fella out!

Thanks.

Dan

P.S. Black Hawk Down was pretty damn phenomenal! The freebee Talledega Nights looked like ass, obviously, as others have pointed out. It was also stupid as heck... I mean Water Boy stupid! Why, oh why did Sony put TN in the box!

No idea. Doesn't seem like the owners of this disc (what few) also has PS3s. You might wanna dig the actual review thread and contacting them personally.

Brian,

Thank you for that bit of information! I'll be calling today! And again, welcome to the Forum. I hope you stick around and enjoy the interesting byplay.

Dan

P.S. At what resolution is the TrueHD track? Hopefully we'll be hearing multi-channel 24/192 mixes some day soon as Blu-Ray has that capability for LPCM, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS Master Audio lossless.

I should have mentioned that Brian promptly sent out a new replacement disc and pre-paid mailer to return the defective one. Worked like a charm! Kudos to LRS Media! Great customer service. The disc is superb. I just wish full seasons on Blu-Ray were coming soon!

Unfortunately I have been informed that legally LRSmedia is not allowed to replace defective Blu-ray discs of Legends Of Jazz. If you have received a defective disc that will not play in your PS3, you will need to return it through the retailer in which you purchased it. The retailers do now have the corrected discs and should be able to replace yours with one. If you do for some reason receive a defective disc for a second time, please call Brian Sherman at LRSmedia (312-329-9300).
