Any way to use your facemap in the single player game? That would be too cool, as there are many times when you can see "yourself".

you see yourself plenty of times in multiplayer too. just get into cover. i'm seriously thinking about picking up a camera for this game...

Did you apply the face paint to your actual face or did you do that in the game after taking a clean pic of your face? I've heard a lot of complaints about getting this to work. But your results look good. I am hoping to get one of these cameras and the game for Christmas. So, I hope to be there with ya soon. :)

Could you do it in the game? I noticed that there were options to allow face paint on the in-game characters. Can you apply these to the image of an imported face as well?

not that i recall. all the body types are the same, you just pick nationality/face from what i remember. no build or height adjustments.

i'm more into it for the various guns that you can take into the field myself.

Actually the first game to support this was World Series of Poker:Tournament of Champions. Which I own and have my face mapped into. I love online poker though. The problem with that is skin color never matches the rest of your player animation and the head looks like it doesnt connect to the body right, like a bobble head. But with RB6 you neck is covered it seems.

yeah it takes 3d pics. I just combined my crappy old HDTV and my Crappy Camera and that is what you get. But yes it does looks very normal other then the bobble head effect and the skin tone problems.

Wow they need to fix the neck part and the extreme whiteness.. But overall the pic looks pretty cool.. Do you have an actual pic to compare it to? If not is it pretty spot on?

The first 2 pics are spot on. Those are the pics my wife saw and was blown away.

The action pics make me look much more white than I am. It might just be the indoor lighting though. I'll snap a shot of some outdoor action to see if the lighting changes.

The extreme whiteness is due to lighting. It is tough, the last guy I made was really redfaced. The other guy had a bad shadow on one side of the face. In other words you need good even lighting, natural lighting seems to be by far the best for that.

Also the poker game wont work with anything but your face. I even tells you to pull back your hair and wear nothing on your face. Eye tape may work but I know sunglasses, hats, hoodies or anything else I tried doesnt work. It is very picky about this stuff.

To answer the previous question, I heard that it somehow locks onto key facial features like your nose and ears, so taking a picture of your a$$ won't work (though I haven't tried myself....)

To answer a couple of other questions that didn't get answered yet:
1) Yes, you can apply the camo face paint and the scars to the custom face. (Though, oddly enough, some of the hats don't work....)
2) Activision's World Series of Poker also allows face-mapping.

I can see this snowballing quickly. Pretty soon you are going to be playing online against celebrities, singers, serial killers, politicians, models, etc.

Back when the camera was announced the first thing I pictured was a mech warrior game with someone's twig and berries tattooed on the side. I don't think that's far off, but if people start putting celebrity images into games there are going to be legal problems for someone. I wouldn't be surprised if this turns into another instance of developers putting something genuinely fun into a product, users abusing it, and it never appearing again.

I finally got around to getting the game and scanning my image in...it took 4 or 5 tries because it didn't like the side picture. Finally figured out that I had to keep my body facing the camera and just turn my head.

I'll try to get a snapshot of it tonight, but I have to say it's UNCANNY how close it got my face. My fiance freaked out a little when she saw me playing :-)

The only thing it got wrong way my hair...it gave me a comb-over. I have a full head of hair lol.

I just put the helmet on my character to cover up the silly hair. One of the only head accessories that works with the custom face.

They take a printed picture of the celebs face and hold it up to the camera. The side isn't as important, they often use their own faces. Results vary :-)

Have you guys noticed that your self-mapped head looks odd depending on the lighting conditions of the game level? A friend of mine did this and his head usually looks very blue. Wondering if he did something wrong or the use of this is simply that disappointing.

The face mapping feature always looked way overblown. Even if you adjust the contrast on the camera before you take the picture, it still brightens it up terribly. They need to have contrast sliders AFTER you take the picture.

Using natural light yields the best results. Just open all your window and turn off all lights. This looks the best in game.

I need to get around to taking a pic of my character in the game and posting it. It looks, EXACTLY like me, to the point where it is almost creepy seeing yourself getting blown up.
