When I connect the camera to the tv for playback, the connection loses sync every second or so, and comes back. It does this over and over. Where would the problem likely lie?

The problem could be several things. First press home on the camcorder, then touch select devices, touch TV connect guide, and touch High definition TV. After double checking the settings and trying to play back again if it still gives you grief try a different HDMI cable. Other than these two things I suppose it could be an issue with the handshake between the camcorder and your TV. Something else you could try is taking it down to your local CC or BB and plugging it into one of their TV's to see if it's a problem with your TV. If you do try another TV I would suggest a Sony KDS-R60 or 70 XBR2 since I know it works with those. There's an HDMI port on the front of these TV's mapped to input 3. I'll send you a PM to some other HDR-SR1 specific forums in case you need further technical help that's beyond my expertise. Good luck and I hope you can get it to work so you can experience the full glory of your camcorder.

Howdy,
I own a Sony hdr-sr1 camcorder. I would like to know if there is any way to export HD video files from a P.C. back to the hard drive on the hdsr1 other than using the program Sony provides (Picture Motion Brouser)? You can copy & paste the files directly to the camcorder hard disk, which is real fast transfer, but the hdrsr1 won't recognize or play the files.

Can you tell me where I can get more info on the hdr-sr1?

Many thanks,
David

just as an update i sent the unit back and got another. Problem solved, so it was in the camcorder.
