Valleyboy, this is a known issue on certain cable boxes. The green stripe can be eliminated by switching to full mode so that you have slight overscan or you can switch to component input if you have it, this will also eliminate the green stripe and still allow you to run dot-by-dot mode. There have been quite a few persons complaining about this issue in other threads (9G threads mostly).

hey guys first time poster here. ive had the fhd1 for a couple of years now and love it.
recently the cooling fans have stopped working. i called pioneer and they refered me to a local repair shop. i'd like to try and fix it myself and thats when i came here. looking through the first page of this post i saw the start up sequence to get to the service menu, and it says that the fans are stopped. i tried to restart them and am unable to figure out how. any suggestions?

hi, i just got a new Comcast dcx3400 Motorola cable box. which output mode (native, or 1080i) should choose ? i had thought that if i set it to Native, then my fhd-1 would 'upconvert' any 720p signal (ABC,ESPN,Fox) to 1080i automatically, but when i tested this out , that's not what happened, the tv display said 720p still. my home theater setup is 3400 to Denon avr-2807 hdmi receiver to tv, all via hdmi cables. thanks for any help/advice !

The ones you listed are native 720p. The PRO-FHD1 processes that signal quite nicely, although it will still show the native resolution (720p) in the onscreen display.

So bottom line, your cable box is sending out native mode correctly, and the PRO-FHD1 is doing its job correctly.

thanks for the explanation. but why wouldnt the tv bump the 720p signal 'up' to 1080i ? or maybe the tv just instantly 'compares' each station's own native signal vs. a 1080i , and makes/doesnt make a signal change accordingly (?). or maybe the tv is taking the 720p native signal, upconverting a bit to somewhere 'above' 720p, but displays '720p' on the display because the final output signal is closer to 720p than 1080. ....does this sound somewhat accurate ? thanks....

it is showing what is being inputted not what is being displayed.

the panel is a native 1080p panel so it is taking whatever is being inputted and displaying in 1080p anyway.

thanks for that clarification... i was always under the impression that if my tv is displaying what is being output, not input, but i guess that is wrong...thanks for clearing it up !

had my fhd1 since 1/07 , has maybe 600 hours on it, and just got it ISF calibrated last week. unfortunately the guy who did it is now out of the country and i can't contact him for several weeks with these questions. anyway, on this forum i have read other posts about ISF calibration and i have read that most calibrated tv's have 'day' and 'night' settings , but my guy didnt do that to mine. actually, i am not even sure if his 'calibrations' were made in just one specific tv- mode ( i.e. Pure , Standard, User, etc) or if they apply to all modes (?). probably my fault for not paying enough attention/asking enough questions while he was here doing the cal. i do remember specifically that he advised watching everything in 'dot-by-dot' and 'Pure' if possible. Well, any feedback/advice i can get from this forum would be greatly appreciated ! also i'm wondering if , now that the set has been calibrated, are there any specific adjustments that should be made to my set (i.e. in 'pro adjust' ). thanks .....

what would you pay for a Pro-FHD1 ? - used of course, but still functioning properly

A local CL ad has one listed in the $800 range. Any opinions ?

Am I crazy for buying a 5 yr old disply with 2000 hrs on it, on craigslist for $750? I got the wall mount and stand as well. It looks pretty good, not as good as a kuro or 8th and 9th G models, but seems better than current best buy and costco models.

I'd buy that in a heart beat. It isn't FL by any chance? lol
