I paid $159 after tax a couple of months ago. It's $110 at buy.com when you use google checkout. I don't think it will last long.

Wow. Great price on, IMHO, the best DVD recorder without a hard drive that you can buy.

I paid $155.06 just a month ago this is a great deal.
Could it be they are making room for the 2007 models?
Too bad if you use Google checkout you must pay shipping.

A few days ago, I decided it was time to purchase a DVD recorder. And the Panasonic ES15S seemed to be just what I needed. What I especially like was that it would record all available single layer formats.

I first saw it on the Panasonic web site where I could by it direct from them for $169. My daughter found it at Walmart for $149.54 Then I noticed that Circuit City carried it for forty five cents more than Walmart. But they they offered free shipping or in store pickup. So I decided to go with them. It never occurred to me to check out places like Buy.com. Darn!!!

Return it and look for a better price.

The quality at LP (4 hours) and Flex Record is impressive - unless I plan to edit later I record to DVD-Rs TYG02. Makes a decent player but lacks zoom.

It's in today's Fry's newspaper ad for $119 (I think it's the ES15, it doesn't specify which model).

Getting an ES15 Panny for $125 bucks or less is a great buy, IMHO. What I really like about this Panny is it's easy menu interface and simple commercial deletion on a recorded program AND it will record DVD-RAM and DVD+RW. Plus it has DV input for your camera. And LP record quality is superb- probably the best. It does full D1 resolution record unlike the 2003-05 Pannys(except the 2005 ES20). The remote is much better than other brand DVDR's. If Sams Club reduces their ES15 from $149 I would probably exchange my ES20 which I bought there for $149 as well. I have 45 days to see. I do not think Sams Club has a match price policy on other stores.

$74.98 at Circuit City in an open box.
Remote control unopened/unused, DVD RAM included, all cables/manuals warranty card included. Not a scratch or blemish on the unit to my knowledge.

Does your unit display a track number when playing an audio CD?
Mine does not, only minutes and seconds. It's a little annoying. I wonder if it is just my unit.
