anyone using a blue ray or even hd-dvd with a sony vpl-hs51? I am wondering if you are pleased with the picture. I am debating on getting a blue ray player now or wait until I can up grade the projector to one with 1080P capability. Your thoughts are appreciated. Thanks

I just bought the Pioneer BDP-HD1 and it will not establish an hdmi handshake with my VPL-hs51. At least that appears to be what is going on. So..I am interested in what BD players do work with this PJ using hdmi.

Wow, that is unusual! I wounder if the BDP-HD1 needs to be set to 1080i or 720p. What happens when you use component?

I am using both HD-A1 and PS3 for my BluRay player with my HS60 (51A). Looks so awesome. No issues at all.

jayrader--are you using hdmi or component ? I positivly could not get my hs51 to handshake with the Pioneer BD player no matter if what frequency was set on either player or projector. . I didn't try component, because I was leaning towards getting a VPL-VW50 (Sony Pearl) which is what I ended up doing.
