I was wondering if anyone else had this model? tregor 12-11-06, 05:48 PM I have got one and I'm happy of its size and its performance. Of course if you expect HD or extenal usb or ftp share 5000 is better... For my need its ok. Have fun! block911 12-11-06, 11:54 PM does this play xvid? tregor 12-12-06, 02:18 AM Yes it plays XviD (without packet bitstream as most of DivX player...) 95% of my movies are XviD and they are perfect! ;o) double6 12-13-06, 05:30 AM Very nice model, no noisy (you can ajust fan speed in case). It's perfect for someone who doesn't need HighDef, i use it as a DVD player (.vob) for my parents (as they usually have no time to rent DVDs) and to watch avi, xvid files without having to plug the projector. Format the drive in NTFS and retrieve the last firmware. Sound is quite good. I’ve got an issue with the bookmarks management (seems to be a random process on mine). Best choice in this range of product. Best price in France here: http://search.rueducommerce.fr/shared/recherche/index.cfm?m=i&requete=tvix+3100&x=0&y=0 thewarm 12-14-06, 09:05 AM It plays my DVD rips, both ISO or IFO/VOB, and plays my PAL DVD rips! I have it hooked up via component/TOS-Link @ 1080i. I have also tried the video and S-Video outputs (the picture is also very good at 480i). One very surprising feature was the XviD playback. I played a movie with quite a few "explosions" and "light to dark" scene changes... the same movie on my Oppo 970 would pixelate during these transitions, but the TViX did not! on the minus side (nit picking here) 1) No thumbnail views of photos (JPEG support only). Don't care, use my TiVo. 2) Have to hit the info button on remote to see ID3 tags on MP3's (not a biggie) 3) No screensaver. (but can setup "auto-play" mode for MP3 playback without using a TV.) Overall, a very nice unit (that will save me alot of DVD burning). tregor 01-05-07, 03:11 AM New Firmware 2.0.0 is available for M-3100U ! thewarm 01-11-07, 11:41 AM I emailed TViX (Dvico) about my "interference" problem... almost any remote command I use on my Panasonic CRT HDTV turns off the M-3100! Their response was: "sorry for the inconvenience, try to move the TViX out of the Pansonic's line of sight. No fix will be forthcoming!" It IS very annoying! :( |
