I'm getting ready to buy a 2007 Toyoyta Rav 4 and I plan to put a good a/v system in it, possibly a Kenwood DDX-6019 HU & navigation.

I'm looking for speaker recommendations. My priority is accuracy - I like flat mids, and lively, forward (but not shrill) highs. I had MB Quart separates in the front of my previous car, a '91 5.0L Mustang, and I really liked them. Combined with a JL Audio Microsub and a pair of full range Clarion speakers in the rear for reinforcement, I was able to run the whole system at "flat" settings and it still sounds great to this day. It's been 12 years since that installation though, so I have no idea if MB Quart is still making the same quality components, or whether they'd be the most suitable choice for this vehicle. Any thoughts are welcome.

I had Focal Polyglass seperates in my MB E320 a couple years ago powered with Arc amplifiers. They were the best sounding car audio speakers I had heard when I picked them. Not as bright and forward souding as the MB Quarts which I also auditioned. I think you can still get good deals on them on ebay.

MB Quarts are bright...well you can't really get much brighter than them.

MB Quart has been bought twice in the 2000s, I'm a bit iffy about them now myself. I owned a pair of 6.5" Components the last year they were truly MB Quart.

I recommend checking out Focal and CDT.

The Dyn 3-way system sounds awesome.

You could power match it with a JL 300/1 150W continiuous amp. Female vocals sound so real with the Dyn soft dome mids. Great midbass from the 8 (system 360). You could floor or kick pod the 8s in fiberglass and then mount the tweets and soft dome mids in the dash for great imaging and soundstaging.
