Silent of the Labms whoo hoo! and Dances with wolves is great too. wow march cant come soon enough :) Gary Murrell 12-14-06, 01:03 AM which Tom Crown? Dances dir cut ? we have questions people :D -Gary Petra 12-14-06, 01:18 AM wow  FOX is really stepping up, those are really fine quality movies Gary Murrell 12-14-06, 01:21 AM Silence is gonna look darn tootin good, anyone who complains about the film grain will have to deal with me ;) :D -Gary Dan Hitchman 12-14-06, 01:24 AM Dances With Wolves damn well better be a BD50 with an advanced codec because either way you split it (theatrical or extended), it's a looong film with difficult to compress scenes (like the buffalo stampede). Dan dpags 12-14-06, 09:53 AM Some awesome titles in this list to be sure. We get to see the Buffallo Bill dance in Hi-def :D ToddUGA 12-14-06, 10:04 AM Hooisers, Silence of the Lambs, and Dances with Wolves are three of my favorite movies. I've been format neutral but between these titles and the upcoming Disney titles, it's getting harder and harder to stay that way. :( dpags 12-14-06, 10:06 AM which Tom Crown? Dances dir cut ? we have questions people :D -Gary It's the Brosnan one. All available for preorder at DVDEmpire. shamus 12-14-06, 11:35 AM Some awesome titles in this list to be sure. We get to see the Buffallo Bill dance in Hi-def :D It puts the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again... Big J 12-14-06, 11:47 AM Here's the first paragraph from the man room: "According to online retailer DVDEmpire.com, Fox will be distributing four MGM Blu-ray titles on March 13 in addition to the four Fox titles annouced this past Tuesday." He's just quoting DVDEmpire. Was there an official announcement? If I recall their rumor of X3 was correct. rcavictor1956 12-14-06, 12:16 PM Dances With Wolves and Hoosiers for me!!!! Earz 12-14-06, 12:48 PM Sin City is a must have. :) Kris Deering 12-14-06, 12:48 PM While Fox is doing a great job with the distribution, MGM decides what titles to release and when. Just FYI! tracemhunter 12-14-06, 07:58 PM oh nice. i will definitely pick of silence of the lambs and dances with wolves. dances with wolves is like 4 hours long so if that isn't bd50-worthy, i don't know what is. Nachosgrande 01-30-07, 01:23 PM Will there be a Silence of the Lambs Collectors Edition on Blu-Ray(new DVD version just released with tons of extras on it)? Rusty James 01-30-07, 01:29 PM Will there be a Silence of the Lambs Collectors Edition on Blu-Ray(new DVD version just released with tons of extras on it)? Probably in a year or two, once everything the format promises is working and the players are all up to snuff. Taha24 01-30-07, 02:02 PM Now if only MGM decides to not be morons and stop charging new release pricing for their catalog titles. Great titles, but $28-30 is ridiculous. And that is Amazon/Walmart pricing. dad1153 01-30-07, 02:05 PM Will there be a Silence of the Lambs Collectors Edition on Blu-Ray(new DVD version just released with tons of extras on it)? Not for the one coming out in March. Its a barebones BD at Fox/MGM prices, so a pass for me. Shame, a BD version of 'Lambs' loaded with the Collector's Edition bonuses would have been too tempting even for me to pass. The sticker shock and lack of extras makes avoiding this BD release a no-brainer. :( SyHD 01-30-07, 02:11 PM Dances with Wolves is gonna be done in AVC mpeg-4 ...gonna be nice! As for Silence of the Lamb ...they just announced it? This is news to me. dpags 01-30-07, 02:17 PM No it was announced a while ago, before CES (which added Hannibal as well). RAVEN56706 01-30-07, 02:54 PM why so expensive? camaj 01-30-07, 03:14 PM I think you need to blame Fox for the pricing! DavidHir 01-30-07, 03:36 PM I'll be renting the $30 movies. Dave Mack 01-30-07, 03:45 PM Dances is I believe NOT the extended version! :0 Rusty James 01-30-07, 04:38 PM Dances is I believe NOT the extended version! :0 That is correct. It is the theatrical version. Thebarnman 01-30-07, 11:00 PM Dances with Wolves 180 min (theatrical version) 3 hours 224 min (extended version) 3.73 hours 236 min (director's cut) 3.93 hours Nachosgrande 02-01-07, 07:56 PM Not for the one coming out in March. The sticker shock and lack of extras makes avoiding this BD release a no-brainer. :( Are we going to go through the money grab once again like we did with DVD....the initial HD version....the Extended version....the Extra Special Version!!! I see NO reason why the extras should not be included in these releases. Maybe a way for the studios to sell DVD AND BD/HD DVD? Offer special extras only on one format vs the other? |
