Hi Guys - Great Show
I bought a Mvix 760HD based on the review that you did in this episode.
Unfortunately the 760HD is a poor media center at best.
I dont know if you have ever used the xbox media center, but I believe this is one of the best out there and after starting the 760 up and (it does not work on my network for some reason) trying it out with a local USB drive, there is no way it is a media center.
Yeah it plays files, but damn you gotta know what you are doing.
Take a DVD that has been backed up to the hard drive for example. I pressed play on the folder name and it drops into the sub folder. PRessing play eventually gets it going, and then if fails on the ifo file because it does not understand it.
How is the average person supposed to use this. My wife picked up the remote and had no idea at all on how to get the DVD playing.
And for those who buy outside of the US - Dont bother asking for help as you wont get it. MvixUSA will only support USA and Canada. The local retailer is supposed to help, but that is very limited as they have to suppoert every other device as well.
So basically I cant recomend this to anyone - it still needs to mature into a proper media center.
