I've come from years of ReplayTV use, so I going through a bit a withdrawal now that I've got HDTV and a Comcast Moto DCT3416 DVR.

Let's say for example that I want to record the new South Park (or other multi-time shows) every Wednesday night at 9:00pm. That's when the new show is on, but that episode and others episodes air like 20 times a week on the channel.

When I setup a series recording, the 3416 ends up recording all shows at all times, not just the weekly one I want, even if I sett it to "Only record new episodes".

How can you limit the days/time that a series recording does? I've gone through manual, Wiki articles, AVS, and have gotten nowhere. I can't believe they'd design it this badly.

In case you never got your answer elsewhere. I have a 3412 so YMMV but as far as I can tell from experimenting and reading on line the setting to limit to "new only" simply does not work.

There is another setting that limits the recording to just that time. Not sure how they interact with each other.

Also not sure if that one works either as we're still testing settings.
