View Full Version : Lost IVS on hard drive upgrade... why?

I have 2 Replay units: 5160 and 5040

I am using WiRNS, DVarchive and IVSmagic

My 5040 had the hard drive go bad about a week ago and I ordered a replacement from replaytv.us. The drive arrived, installed it, did the initial configuration, all is well. I then went in to configure my internet identity and address book for IVS and it isn't there! I have rebooted, power cycled it, connected multiple times, etc and nothing brings it back. The unit sees my other Replay devices and I can stream between them but I cannot get IVS or the address book to appear in "setup".

I have compared the version of software on my two units and they are the same:
530511440

WiRNS and DVArchive "see" the 5040 with new drive without an issue but I cannot add it to IVSmagic because I cannot configure the IVS sharing port and info.

Anyone had this issue? Is there a fix?

thanks

Force a net connect. I think you'll see IVS come back.

Just to document the fix, rbolen70 from planetreplay.com gave me the hint to install the 55xx shellcmds that force the Replay to install the "Internet Identity and Address Book" and turn on IVS. I was able to do this from WiRNS by right clicking on the Green "W" and selecting "Edit Shellcmds" and then installing the lines:

regedit setval SysConfig/DefaultPlayback CommercialSkipEnabled 1
regedit setval Software/Apps/Internet InternetEnabled 1

I then forced a netconnect from my 5040, waited until it was done and the IVS and "Internet Identity and Address Book" option showed up in the Setup options. I then configured my port and Internet Identity and now all works as expected. :)

I wonder if this is going to start happening more often..

This is the second time in about a week or so that a 50xx has lost IVS and had to use the 55xx shellcmds to recover.

Of course Ryan meant to say that this is the 10th time in a week or so that this happened.

Could be.. Anyone want to run Wireshark against their 50xx connection and see if DNNA sends the shellcmds?

Is there a way to force IVS on without using Wirns?

Yes. Use a 4 or 5K ReplayTV.

I have a 5040 that DVA sees just fine but when I go to MENU, there is no "Internet Identity and Address Book" menu......I have forced a Replaytv connect but it still did not show up......if I click on a show, the menu does not contain "Send Show" either......

Guess it just lost its fizz. Seriously, it sounds like what you would not get on a 5500 unit, are you sure it's a 5K?
