Intesting that they used some Universal Studios movies as examples of the different genres (for example, Bourne Supremacy).

I'm not trying to imply Universal is going to be supporting BD, but it makes you wonder if the results of this "Sony Pictures Entertainment" survey will be used to further to try convince Universal to go neutral.

Petra

well, let us all vote for Bourne Supremacy :D

No income questions - that is odd.

Very detailed survey indeed.

You know this is a gag, right?

Geez is this survey long

and the selection of movies they gave to pick three out of is pretty crappy. I picked Spiderman 2, Men in Black and Lawrence of Arabia.

uhh...wtf...

"In your opinion, what is the hottest song that you have heard recently on the radio? "

advertising, most likely.

I took the poll. Was interesting thinking how many titles I'm going to buy coming up in next 6 months. I think I put 8 HD-DVD and 10 Blu-ray based on the releases I've seen so far, but I'm imaginging the news at/around/after CES could either half or double one or both of those numbers...

I replied;

“Hottest” is not how I would describe a favorite song.

to that one.

I'm afraid that this survey just shows once again how out of touch SONY are about their classic film titles. This was not even a genre choice and only included Lawrence Of Arabia and CE3K (I'd consider this a classic) in the list of titles interested in purchasing on Blu-Ray.

Don't even get me started on the "hottest" song question.

Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal suprised me.

That was an odd addition to their survey.

I chose Spidey 1/2 and Resident Evil as my most interested titles though overall their list was pretty weak.

Uh, nice.

They did mention Star Wars in one of the earlier questions / categories IIRC.

You know this is a gag, right?

Seems to be:

See Official Rules for mail entry deadlines. Mail entrants from Canada must also answer the following math skill testing question (within 2 minutes, unassisted (e.g., no calculators) and without any outside help) and include it with their mail entry: "what is 2 plus 2, subtracted by 2, multiplied by 2, divided by 2?"

LMAO though!

Star Wars is a Fox property, not theirs.

Indeed. Nevertheless, it was an example in one of the questions.

The skill testing question bit is a part of Canadian contest law, no gag there. We also DONT pay taxes on lottery winnings , ha!.

Hate to admit it, but I had trouble picking 3 movies I'd be interested in purchasing.

Sweepstakes require such nonsense here under law. Something must be done to earn a prize, and perhaps distinguish it legally from a gift (although neither are taxable under Canadian law).

Gary

BTW, great to see you posting again!

Yeah that's got to be real, rather than a gag. Noticed that my Tears of the Sun had a flier in it that gives that exact URL. And you can get there from th Sony Pictures site, as well.

Very interesting, though, dialog. DO they use different questions now and then or is that the standard one? :p

I selected Dark Crystal, Labyrinth and Hellboy.

Had to pick the movies no one else would.

I had never heard of this before prior to you and the other guy stating that is actually legit. How peculiar it is.

Thanks for the welcome Gary.
