I've been throwing the image onto a textured and glossy wall for far too long
The throw distance is going to be roughly 11 feet.
I'm looking for suggestions and places to by the screen material.
I'm not an artist and don't want to be mixing paint for hours.
I understand that the 4805 is not a light cannon, so I guess I'd need something that gives it some lumen "boost."
Is there anything that I can just cut to size and stick to my wall that's not going to cost a whole lot?
Thanks in advance (this forum is godly  ).
I understand that the 4805 is not a light cannonActually, it is a "light cannon" - it is certainly one of the brightest projectors in its class: 600 calibrated lumens at low power!
Get a 4'x8' sheet of "foam-core" from an art store. Should cost about $10. Cut it to size. Use the dull side. Be very careful not to "dent" it.

If you are West of the Rockies you could also get a 4x8 sheet of Doable board from Home Depot.

I'm out in So Cal.
I'll look into both options.
Is Doable board as easy to dent as what Cavu suggested?

Regardless of its lighting capability, for the $330 I paid for one that only had 2 hours on it, I'm not complaining :D
The 4805 is definitely a light canon. I felt that it could use a light grey screen even at 10.5' wide. Though I don't feel that now since I installed an iris the other night. :)

Take a look in the Wilsonart Laminate thread. May bit a bit over what you want to spend, but everyone praises the 2 screen colors saying they come very close if not equaling $1000+ commercial screens. The common sizes are 4x8, 5x8, 5x10 and 5x12 I think. The 2 colors found best are Designer White and Fashion Grey. The grey may hot spot slightly, but a simple 1 can solution of clear paint can fix any problems. Anyway take a look at the thread, a lot of information there for the taking.

You're west of the Rockies, using an 11 foot throw, don't want to paint, just want it cut and stuck to your wall...
That's a no-brainer: Do-able board from HD, 1.13 gain, SKU #174278, $15 and HD will cut it for you right there. Thread here:

Thanks guys.
I'm probably going to pick up one of these Do-ables.
If I get bored some day, I'll probably paint it gray or something.

Painting it would be a waste, IMHO.
If you must paint, I would suggest painting the mdf back side only and leaving the vinyl front finish alone. -j

I went to two different Home Depots today, neither had Doable boards and the employees had never heard of them.
I ended up grabbing a poly wall board that was $20.
They were closing and I didn't have time to grab any supplies to mount it.
I stuck it to the wall with masking tape and it's holding somehow........
I'm projecting onto the non-shiny face and it looks great.
I haven't tried the other side yet.
What's an easy way to properly mount a Poly Wall?
