A standard antenna will not work. ellisz 12-26-06, 11:16 PM I have my home kit antenna sitting on the window sill. Works well for me. Otherwise I would think you need a specific outdoor mount antenna. Odys 01-03-07, 03:56 PM I bought on outdoor Sirius antenna for about $40 a while back and mounted it to my roof. 100% signal at all times now. I was getting almost no signal at all with the cheapo indoor window antenna that came with my unit. oth 01-04-07, 07:43 PM XM was easy as it faces south more or less. Sirius is a bit tricky as it passes from North East to South West more or less. I could never get a continuous signal from a window sill so I finally purchased a outdoor external Terk antenna which is just outside my window frame a points North-Northeast and just clears the roof eves and now I get a signal all the time. If you want to put it up on a roof that's okay too! In the car it's just the opposite, Sirius seems easy whereas XM takes a little more thought unless you have access to terrestrial repeaters. oth |
