Newbie here so please bear with me.

Just purchased the the HT-S894 over the internet and just had a few basic questions which I hope some one can help.

So far I am pleased with the unit since I plan to purchase an HDTV receiver shortly and this has the HDMI Connections already.

First I am confused about the low volume on the unit. I have to get the settings up to 60+ before I start getting some decent sound. Am I doing something wrong in my set up? Tried customer service on Friday but was on hold almost a half hour.

Last question concerning speaker calibration and crossover settings

The manual doesn't give much information on this. Has anyone come up with quick and easy setting that they feel is superior than the factory settings? Rather not go the radio shack meter route.

Your volume level sounds about right. Mine behaves the same way. For me, the volume output is fine, I have never had it up much beyond 75-80.

As far as the settings, it really depends on your room and speaker placement. I am currently running with a crossover setting of 80 to see how that works.

Do you find the bass low or sometimes the Sub turns off??

I haven't experienced that issue with the subwoofer
