I just noticed on the owners manual of my yr. old Samsung LN-S3251D that it's a TFT LCD, 'thin film transistor' apparently

So are all consumer LCD tvs TFT? b/c my other Sony LCD doesn't have this designation but picture and performance are comparable

thanks

Sony uses Samsung panels so the panel types should be the same - TFT

Most if not all LCD televisions use TFT technology. TFT is a variant of LCD technlogy.

ALL (100%) of color LCD for TVs are TFT, also known as Active Matrix LCD, AMLCD.

...and Sony does NOT use Samsung panels. They rent space in the Samsung factory, but they are produced on separate lines.

Just dismissing some FUD. :-D

Check the numbers.........EXACT same panels are used by Sony, Samsung, and JVC.
