Hi, i was wondering if the Pelican HD system selector would be a good one for me? i realize its very cheap, but for my needs i dont think i need a 100-200 dollar selector at all. I have a samsung hdtv lcd tv and i only have one component output on it, I want to hookup my ps2 and dvd player and possibly something else in the future to my tv by component. This item has the number of ports i need, and is just the right price, and even comes with component cables!. The only thing im concerned with is will my picture suffer a decrease in picture quality if i am splitting the ocmponent with this device? i dont know the technology behind it, but thats not what i want to happen.

Look for the "Impact Acoustics" switcher. Still pretty cheap (should be around $50) and it has a remote control, plus it'll do TOS digital audio. I think I got mine through Amazon.
I'm using Inday switchers....they work well...no problems with HD:

I second this....nice, inexepensive, quality. No frills but very capable.

Inday has some cool stuff. I especially like re-purposing their HDDA-1 component video splitter into a 1x10 composite video distribution amp. The owner is quick to reply to support and configuration inquiries, too.

I'm currently using my 1x4 component video distro amp as a 3 channel 1 input 4 output digital audio distro amp, and my 4x1 component video switch as a digital audio switch that feeds my digital AVR inputs...
great stuff.

I found one that is pretty cheap(about $45 shipped) and has a remote. I can't post links, because i'm a newb, but google "startech av selector". Anybody tried this one?

Nice. A list of StarTech's products. All seem very reasonably priced:

Why not buy a reciever with multiple inputs for less than $200 like the HTR-5930SL from yamaha?

Based on the info provided here, I've ordered the Impact Acoustics 3-Play switcher and am eagerly awaiting it's arrival. I'll post more once I've had a chance to hook it up but it sounds like a winner based on everything I've read here and elsewhere on the interweb. ;) Let's hope it doesn't dissapoint!
