I recently purchased a Samsung HL-S5087W, along with a TV stand, off of Amazon. Unfortunately for me, the TV stand is nowhere near deep enough for my Harman Kardon AVR 430 receiver, which is 17.1" deep (plus cabling).

Currently the receiver is just hanging off the front by about 3-4", and it looks terrible. I have now begun searching for a corner TV stand that will support my existing components, but it is proving to be much harder to find something that fits my needs than I had anticipated, as many of the stands have a much shorter shelf depth than I need.

I was hoping to find some help through this forum.

Existing Component Dimensions:
Samsung HL-S5087W:
- Dimensions: 45.4" W x 32.3" H x 15.6" D

Receiver:
- Dimensions: 17.3" W x 6.5" H x 17.1" D

Here are my requirements:
Minimum Dimensions: 46" W x 18" H x 22" D
Price: Under $500
Color / Style: Not important, but hopefully nothing too industrial looking.

The 22" D is for the shelving specifically, as the receiver is 17.1" and I'll need 3-5" for all of the cabling.

I don't necessarily have any "maximum" dimensions specified, but I'd like to keep the width as close to 46" as possible, as I have some space considerations.

Thanks,

I feel for you. Back in March, deciding on the stand I wanted was WAY more trouble than deciding on the TV I wanted. I spent dozens of hours pouring over the web looking for just the right stand. I spent days visiting local stores loking for the right stand. Actually, that's not quite true... One of the first stands I looked at at a Tweeter store was EXACTLY what I wanted, only, it was relatively expensive. So, I spent much time and energy looking for alternatives. Ultimately, after all of that searching, I came back to the one I saw at the beginning. A Salamander Designs Synergy Triple 20.

http://www.salamanderdesigns.com/syn/index.jsp

The Synergy line is very "modular". The design allows you mount the shelves (securely) at ANY height. You can have two doors and two drawers. You can have three doors and no drawers. You can order an extended back for the side that will hold your deep A/V receiver. It's simply amazing how many ways you can put it all together.

I went with a Synergy Triple 20 with two doors (left and right) and a single drawer in the middle. I installed the drawer below the middle shelf and placed my center channel speaker on the shelf above the drawer. I adjusted the shelf so the top of the speaker was just below the underside of the top of the stand. The speaker is slightly wider than the stand's center opening but, since I didn't install dividers between the three compartments (better air circulation), the speaker "overlaps" slightly into the two side compartments. The overlap is hidden by the two center vertical supports. Result: The center channel speaker looks like a custom installed option, rather than a speaker sitting on a shelf.

I LOVE this stand!! Worth EVERY penny!

Thanks a lot for your input, I will look into these stands, and hopefully I'll be as happy with them as you are.

I just ordered a TV stand from www.audio-video-furniture.com. Ordered it last Saturday and it was delivered it today; actually, they attempted delivery yesterday, but nobody was home to sign for it. And Monday was a holiday...

Anyway, their prices are right in line with other sites, but they offer free shipping which turns into a big discount with large, heavy stuff.

I've searched for a stand for about 30 days that would fit my 50" DLP, equipment and center channel for about a month and have come to the conclusion that having a stand custom built is the way to go.

For about $200 bucks, I've got a cabinet maker making me a stand to my specifications finished to match my home decor and make my wife happy. I was unable to find a stand which would fit all of my equipment at an optimal height (all electronics and center channel just under the set for best sound and remote control ease) without buying something really oversized, and by having it custom built I am also able to get my sub woofer to fit under the stand and get a closed back and sides making the stand look tidy from any angle.

FWIW
