My dad's hearing isn't what it used to be and I got him a pair of Sennheiser rs140 wireless headphones. He has a Sony Bravia TV (KDL-V40XBR1 if it matters) and the wireless headphones work great when he plugs them into the headphone jack on the TV.

When he plugs in the headphones, the regular TV sound (thru the TV speakers) goes silent, as it should.

The ideal situation would be to have my mom listen to the TV at normal volume, with my dad sitting in the same room, wearing headphones that allow him a higher volume.

Question: How can I have volume come out of the TV and thru the headphones at the same time? They have no other equipment like a stereo system or other speakers. If I need to get more equipment, what do you suggest?

Thanks,
Jeff

Can you plug the x-mitter into the the fixed audio outputs on the back of the TV? That way the TV's speakers will stay on and he can control the volume with the headphones volume adjustment(s).
